I think the writers screwed up with Zuko. He really should've turned good at the end of last season. He came off as pretty gullible to me to fall for his sister's crap, AGAIN. And wanting the love of the father that killed his mother, the only person in his family other than Iroh that truly loved him and cared about his well being. The second season put Zuko on this great journey where he seems to come to grips with all of this and finally understands it all, then oops, goes back with his sis at the end. LAME.

Even more lame after he goes on his spiritual journey after he's feeling divided and decides he no longer has to be angry and follow the ideals of his father and sister. It was a crappy, contrived, and poorly done reversal.

I wonder what would've happened if they just let Katarra use her healing water on his face.

Its not really known what exactly happend to Zuko's mom TVO. And Zuko has always been on a discontent path. He always wanted wanted to "Prince" Zuko, not the Exiled Prince. His uncle offered him a life that was unappealing to him regardless of how much he loved him. When he tried to make himself comfortable again by being the Blue Spirit, Iroh didn't approve. When he voiced his disliking for the whole Tea House thing, Iroh kinda ignored him.

Basically Zuko, like all teenagers is still trying to FIND himself. He wants his old life back, but he loves his Uncle which is a part of his new life which he utterly disdains. He tries to suck it up for Uncle, but he just can't keep lying to himself.

i thought it would be a pretty interesting fight but then they woul end up becoming friends after talking to each other.

You can logically infer that's what happened to his mother. They were subtle about it which was good. But season 2 basically had Zuko come to the realization about his mother who was the person in his family who truly cared about him.

Iroh didn't ignore him. He was the one that knew what Zuko was going through and confronted him about it and helped him when he was sick from his divided soul. And it got to a point where Zuko WAS in fact comfortable and content there. He had a spiritual journey where he resolved himself, then they turn around and basically undid that.

This was Zuko at the beginning and first half of season 2. This was not Zuko after everything that happened in season 2 and the writers went back on it.

He didn't seem to disdain his life there so much after a while. He looked like he actually had a decent time with that girl who liked him in Ba Sing Se. After he got over his sickness, he actually seemed happy and eager to be there.

I so wanted zuko to join up with aang and the crew, because then they would have all 4 elements and he could have taught aang how to firebend.

I'm not saying they should've had Zuko join up with Aang, but they basically ignored everything that had been happening with Zuko up to that point at the end of season 2.

Crossroads of Destiny man...maybe in the long run...Zuko's choice might affect the outcome of the end.

I'm not about to judge the writers whom have given me a Helluva entertaining show. They may just surprise us yet. Which they did with last season.

I'm positive Zuko won't teach Aang firebending but I'm sure that he'll at least help him in the fight against Ozai. Iroh will more than likely help Aang master firebending.

I also want to know, did Zuko learn the lightning bending technique that Iroh taught him or not?

That was never made clear to me in season 2.

Iroh taught him, but he never got to try it

Only time can tell. :cwink:

You mean to redirect lightning? If so, I'm sure he has, he just hasn't used it yet.

Well he did teach him the lightning style as well but Zuko was to hot headed to master it at that time but he knows the moves and as soon as he is a calmer person he will have it mastered.
But yeh the re-direct style he has just not tested yet and it didn't require the calm out of him the lightning style did.

Well, 'Painted Lady' aired. I gave it a 7. Entertaining and funny at times, but nothing particularly mind blowing.

I liked it, it showed that katarra can stick up for herself like when she yelled at sokka

That episode was pretty much a filler. But the next one looks pretty good.

I'll say the voice work for the show has been pretty tight.

Doesn't Andrea Romano do the voice direction?

I missed the new episode. I was at my homecoming game. Did anything too important happen?:(
