Both Dragonball and The Last Airbender could've been incredible movies that spawn the start of a successful franchise, but their first film made by lousy directors (yes, that includes Nights now) pretty much tank any possibility of another sequel made in the future. What a wasted opportunity.

It just sound pretentious in how they changed the sounds of the names, to sound more 'ethnic'.

But they weren't asian in the movie???? His logic was backwards at best here.

^ Agreed

What I hate hearin is that this movie was supposedly better than DBE, but at least DBE's plot made since and wasn't just jumping from scene to scene and then throwing in a random character just to explain another character's past.

I still don't understand why M. Night changed the date of the comet's arrival.

Won't it seem odd and forced if Aang is in a rush to master the rest of the elements when he has so much time to do it?

This was my reaction to that last scene with Azula:

huh the show's comet said like 6 months for its' arrival

this was suppose to be a trilogy where you have to consider the age of the young actors 6 months would make no sense

3 years makes much more sense

he would still have to rush since the show said it took several years for an avatar to master all the elements

Perhaps, but the real problem is there's no pressure on 'Ong' to rush since his all knowing dragon neglected to mention anything about the comet to him.

DBE is definantly the better movie. While it's far from the Dragonball movie I would've liked to have, it manages to be enjoyably cheesy.

Who else felt that the movie felt strangely..claustrophobic? Maybe it just doesn't feel like they're in different lands and just felt like sets.

I mean, Peter Jackson and even early George Lucas can do 'world building' well. Not M. Night.

I want to thank Night for at least getting me to watch the show. WOW! Watched almost the whole show last week on NickToons and I was thoroughly impressed!

I am a HUGE fan of the series and I did enjoy the movie allot...

There were so many things wrong with this move :cmad:
Zuko's scar was barely visible
The Fire Lord wasn't evil at all (and was a TERRIBLE ACTOR)
the acting was bad
Sokka wasn't even funny
Princess Azula was like only what? 14 in the movie and in the series she's at least 18 or 19
They mispronounced Aang
You didn't get to see allot of Mo Mo
Aang was way to serious in the movie!

They did go by the story really well and they did make Mo mo and I loved the kid who played Aang..

I loved the kid they got to play Aang, but I agree he was WAY too serious in the movie. That movie was just garbage. I mean I could tell watching the movie that there was something special to this story ya know. Like it felt like the story had substance to it but the movie just didnt. The effects were nice but then again all style and no substance with the execution. But yea like I said Im just glad the movie got me into the show, I seriously had NO IDEA that the show was so damn good. I watched it all pretty quick too. I LOVE Toph! Shes so awesome! Toph and Zuko are by far my 2 fav characters and Uncle, hes awesome

Scratch "early" off of Lucas. Even the prequels had impressive looking worlds that felt big and far away. TLA looked like some patch of property near Vancouver.

It's films like this that continue to cause fanboys to be extremely pessimistic about these types of films. MNS had everything laid out for him, all he had to do was bring it to the big screen--plus/minus the usual small changes here and there.

If it could be done with LOTR, the Potter franchise, Spider-man, Iron Man, etc., etc.,...............?

Honestly, I don't know how much easier it could be to make the cartoon into a movie. It's all right there.........ditto with DB for what it's worth.

This is why fans are developing a reverance for the Marvel Studios films and a respect the Potter and LOTR films--as well as others. It's been proven already that it can be done, so there was really no excuse for the film MNS made.

Why do these studios and directors insist on trying to make these properties into something they are not meant to be in the first place?

Yeah, as far off as the green screen they were standing in front of. :o

It's not the CG artists fault. It's the terrible blocking and camera work.

Please there isnt going to be a sequal to this garbade i would be surprised if it did. The dvd sales did horrible.

do you have some kind of fact or figure from an article to back that up buddy?:cwink:
