Sorry if this is already posted somewhere else, but I didn't see a thread dedicated to it, so....
I heard via Twitter and then Googled the story and found it posted online as well. There is speculation that they are going to re-release The Avengers in August in theaters, with the 30-45 minutes of footage that was cut to get the movie down to under 2:30.
Brilliant IMO because even though I'm seeing the movie for the 10th time tonight at the drive in.....We'd go see it. Very likely could push the movie to #1 all time.
Plus, if they go to the effort to do that, they would have to include the additional footage on the DVD in some sort of extended/director's cut, no? I know they've already said that there will be 30+ minutes of cut footage on the DVD, but as a "cut scene" extra.
