'Nuff said.

John Semper, the producer and story editor for the 1994 Spider-Man animated series gives some insight of Avi Arad's actions behind the scenes. I'm only including the most direct portions concerning Arad:

Wow...just wow.

I'm going with both!

Good, I don't want Spider-Man on the Avengers (I've never really been a fan of that idea). The answer is Rothman, hands down. Avi may have done his share of stupid ****, but he's also done good stuff that others have already mentioned. Also, out or four Spider-Man movies, ONE has been objectively BAD (SM 3). That's a pretty good track record. Rothman didn't just screw up the X-Men, but also non-CBM's as Well. Butchering Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven for the theatrical version comes to mind immediately (the Director's Cut is REALLY good btw). It's telling that the X-Men movies started to get good again AFTER Rothman stepped down.

Rothman was my vote but both are bums in my opinion.

Rothman, of course. Thank **** he's gone from Fox.

Wait, there's an Avi and an Ari Arad?

What the ****.

Rothman wins, but they're both scumbags.

I have particular dislike for the way Raimi was dealt with by Sony, whether it was Arad or not. Not only did they trample SM3, but the link on the previous page just reeks of how awful the development for SM4 was, saying on the one hand that they were solely dedicated to making it, and then admitting that the reboot was started about half way through the process.

Why does Arad only get credit for the bad things he produced but not the good?

Because the internet is a mostly negative place.

I am interested in this Sinister Six movie, but I have no idea how they're going to pull it off. Just hope it pays out well with a huge showdown with Spidey. Now that's a film I want to see. But it sounds like S6 will be just the setup.

Also if they set up the Sinister Six under Garfield's tenure as Peter, and Garfield isn't still playing Spider-Man by the time we get to that showdown, I'll be pretty disappointed. It'd be like if they recast RDJ before Avengers.

Tom Rothman, Didn't realize his list of war crimes was that extensive and that horrible.

They only asked he include Venom. It's not the only first time a studio asks a director to include something. Marvel wanted Black Widow in The Avengers. Raimi wasn't happy with the scripts for SM4, there was actually four treatments, he even called it himself "the most undramatic of break ups".

Avi Arad is right, the focus should be getting Venom/Carnage and Sinister Six, done right.

I love how he talks like Marvel Studios and Fiege are the ones begging to have Spider-man in their universe. The way I see it, Sony needs Marvel more than the other way around. Sony only has so many stories to tell with Spider-man but MS has unlimited characters to use.

Does anyone want to see Spider-Man join the Avengers? I sure don't. Now I would like to see him cross over with the rest of the MCU, but not every one needs to be an Avenger - Dr. Strange included!

I want to see TASM series connected to the MCU but much like Daredevil or Iron Fist I don't need Spidey on the Avengers, though a cameo would be cool. The thing is just like Cap or Thor or Iron Man, TASM franchise could exist in the MCU without tons of crossovers. Oh well.

Rothman wins this by a mile. I am hard on TASM, but that film is Citizen Kane as compared to the absolute garbage Rothman gave us.
