My Marvel Vision:
-
2008 PUNISHER2/ IRON MAN/ INCREDIBLE HULK/ Black Widow

2009 Ghostrider2/ Wolverine/FF3 Cage/ Power Pack

2010 Antman/ Iron Man2/Capt. America/ Dr. Strange

2011 Daredevil2/Cloak&Dagger/ SpiderMan4/X-Men4/ Nick Fury

2012 Shang-Chi/ Silver Surfer/ Captain America2/ Hawkeye

2013 Black Panther/ Iron Man3/ Thor

2014 Magneto/Avengers/ Namor/

2015 Captain America3

Marvel doesn't have the rights to Daredevil and Black Widow yet and the studios that own them don't want to make movies of them. Once Marvel gets those rights, then it'll be safe to assume when they can be put onto the big screen.

However, once Marvel gets the rights to Black Widow, I would assume that they would move pretty quickly with that movie and make it so that she can appear in the Avengers movie.

With Marvel producing their own movies, expect the output of 2-3 Marvel movies per year increasing to 4 to 5. Two movies from their own studio and at least two from third party studios (the ones that have the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Sub-Mariner, Luke Cage, Punisher and Ghost Rider franchises).

Sorry, but Quantity doesn't exactly correlate with Quantity. Marvel needs huge budgets to support their movies to stave off mediocre output, especially for big ones like Captain America and Thor.

Ghost Rider has taught Marvel a big lesson on striving for a quality movie. Sure, 1 Ghost Rider-like movie is okay, but 4-5 ones is going to be a joke of the industry.

3 Max. 4 an extreme rarity. 5 I don't think so - this is oversaturation.

Marvel doesn't make Spider-Man and Ghost Rider and Daredevil. They don't get affected financially by box office failures of those movies. Columbia and 20th Century Fox do.

Not true. Marvel gets an up front payment before filming starts against the gross in the above mentioned films as they are gross participation deals. If the movie fails then they keep that money and it does not diretly effect them because they did not finance the film. However if the movie exceed above a certain level they start to make more money based on the gross if it exceeds what they had already been paid in their initial upfront payment. The real effect though is if a franchise fails then it's bringing in no income, merchandise around that franchise was grind to a halt, video games based on that franchise would be minimal, etc...So if a franchise fails even if it is another studio making it...it does effect Marvel quite a bit as it does if the franchise succeeds. Marvel already got paid on Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider isn't going to make enough money where'd they would get more. I do hope that some of these franchises do fall flat with the 3rd party studios so Marvel gets the right back. I don't want them to flop...just not do well enough for the studio to risk continuing the franchise. Then we get the rights back like The Hulk, Iron Man, and very likely Daredevil.

Marvel succeeds if the franchise is a success, but they really don't fail if a movie fails. They still get paid, they really don't lose any money, the only problem is that merchandising won't be as good.

And I really hope that Marvel gets the rights back for Daredevil and Black Widow soon. Just when do they get them back.

^ They lose the potential revenue from the merchandise surrounding any sequels including video games, toys, clothing, etc...Also nobody will be paying Marvel to use the characters to advertise if there's no future films. :) But no it does NOT cost Marvel money if the movie fails directly.

Here's what I'm thinking:
2008- Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine
2009- The Punisher 2, Spider-Man 4, X-Men 4
2010- Captain America, Ant Man, Fantastic Four 3, Iron Man 2, Ghost Rider 2 (sigh)
2011- Silver Surfer, The Avengers, Hulk 3, Magneto

I don't really know what they'll do beyond that other than Thor...

Marvel wants to establish franchises for Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America before they make the Avengers film.

Then we get the rights back like The Hulk, Iron Man, and very likely Daredevil.

So how does that work? The studio has to decide whether to pay to extend ownership of the rights or those rights go back to Marvel once the studios contract ends?

Take-Two Ghost Rider Released Q1 2007
Konami Marvel Vs. Card Game Q1 2007
Activision Spider-Man 3 Q2 2007

Here's what I'm thinking:
2008- Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine
2009- The Punisher 2, Spider-Man 4, X-Men 4
2010- Captain America, Ant Man, Fantastic Four 3, Iron Man 2, Ghost Rider 2 (sigh)
2011- Silver Surfer, The Avengers, Hulk 3, Magneto

I don't really know what they'll do beyond that other than Thor...

Marvel previously announced that they plan to release two self made movies per year starting in 2008. So, you'll have to change your 2009 projections. I'm betting it'll be Cap & Nick Fury in 2009. The Wolverine/Fox solo film will probably slip to 2009 and that will be just fine for Marvel.

OK I made some changes. Based on the characters Marvel excusively own:

2008 - Iron Man, Incredible Hulk

2009 - Luke Cage, Thor

2010 - Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk 2

2011 - Heroes for Hire, Thor 2, Captain America

2012 - Namor, Incredible Hulk 3, Dr. Strange

2013 - Iron Man 3, Black Panther, Silver Surfer

2014 - Captain America 2, Dr. Strange

2015 - Black Panther 2, Silver Surfer 2, Deadpool

2016 - Avengers, Daredevil reboot

2017 - X-men reboot, Deadpool 2

2018 - Buy the movie rights for Transformers, GI Joe, and Thundercats

If these movies are well made Marvel Studios' profits for the next 10 years could easily exceed 4 billion. :wow:

With Marvel producing their own movies, expect the output of 2-3 Marvel movies per year increasing to 4 to 5. Two movies from their own studio and at least two from third party studios (the ones that have the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Sub-Mariner, Luke Cage, Punisher and Ghost Rider franchises).

Its been said before, and i just have to add to it.Marvel needs to stop, and concentrate on key franchies, like Spider-Man.With all of the movies Marvel has made, only Spider-Man has been a true hit.All others have been average,i can see plenty of misses in the future if they just churn out movies like nothing.

Man, the Black Panther movie rumors started all the way in the 1990's

Is this flick really gonna happen?

My Marvel Film Slot Would Be

2008: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine

2009: Captain America, Ant Man, The Punisher 2

2010: Thor, Ghost Rider 2, X-Men 4, Luke Cage

2011: Fantastic Four 3, Magneto, Namor

2012: Spider-Man 4, Daredevil 2, Iron Man 2, Hulk 3

2013: Hawkeye, Elektra 2, The Hands of Shang-Chi, Captain America 2

2014: Black Panther, Black Widow, The Punisher 3

2015: The Avengers, X-Men 5, Spider-Man 5

Other Movies that I didn't know where to put were Deathlok, Gargoyle, Cloak and Dagger, or Power Pack.

I want another Elektra done in about 5-6 years. :-) I'd be happy. and if they can get at least a cartoon for her that's good too. :-) I know it sucked but I thought it was pretty good. :-) I need an Elektra in my life!!!!!!!

I don't know I think Elektra 2 and DD2 will be too late and they'll have to start from scratch on those. But I want someone hot and they better be good at flipping those sais. I don't want no stunt double doing it for her. They need a sporty woman. that's why I liked Jennifer Garner cause she actually did the sais herself. :-)

On Hulk & Iron Man I'm sure they have. The limit is 165 million...but don't forget they don't have to pay themselves to use the characters which cost other studios anywhere from 5%-10%. :) Add that back to the budget as well as the low distributing fees thanks to the bulk deal w/Paramount.

LOL, if you want some Elektra, then you should be reading the latest stories of New Avengers. :yay:

Here my prediction take it for what it's worth:

Daredevil will be restarted and begin filmin in 2009 for a 2010 release.
Elektra may have a role in the film but I think she's more suited for a R-Rated TV series on HBO or something. Totally recast btw.

Mark your calenders. ;)

Any update on the Iron Fist movie, AD?

That's not even on the slate right now is it? I forgot if that was part of the original 10 films....now 12 films. LOL Either way I've heard nothing. I wonder if Sony actually get's off their ass and get's Luke Cage if Marvel might consider selling them the rights on a per film basis down the road.
