Well, I know people are reading this. BPRD always delivers. It's extremely dark, disturbing, and violent. I just read #3 last night, before going to bed. I will probably avoid doing that again with future issues.

It's been awesome seeing Bruttenholm in his prime. The art is great, too.

I agree. The only thing that bothers me, is that sometimes the coloring is just too dark. It's hard to determine what time of day it is, unless it's stated in the dialogue or something. I don't know if this is the reason why they missed the mistake in #1, or not, but it's still confusing...to me, at least. Also, I'm not quite satisfied with the way they addressed it, afterwards, but it's not something that's going to make me drop the title.

I haven't had trouble following anything. Paul Azceta (the artist) just did a killer fill-in on Daredevil this week. He's going to be a major player in the years to come, I think.

Well, I'm not talking about Azaceta. The only problem is with the coloring. Everything else is great.

I may grab this in trade as well as the Abe Sapien one. I'm ready to give the Hellboyverse another try.

The Abe one's kind of trippy. I like it, though. It's about Abe's first field mission.

The coloring in this series is too dark. It's darker than it's ever been for this title. It's creepy, and disturbing, and I like it. But when even the creative team can't tell when a scene is supposed to be taking place, the colors are either too dark, or there aren't enough cues in the dialogue.

I don't even know what you're talking about now. Where did the creative team say they didn't know what was going on?

I didn't say that they didn't know what was going on. On the letters page of #2, Allie talks about the color gaffe in #1.

This series was good, but it disappointed me. It needed to be a bit longer in order to really dig deeper into all the different elements. I think they could've done a lot MORE with what they started out with in the first issue or two. And I hate to say it, but The Drowning also felt like it rushed towards the end. There was this whole mythology set up that was really interesting, and the fate of the world depended on it, and then the hero saves the day and the story ends. It was kind of a letdown.

Yeah I trade wait on all Hellboyverse stuff so waiting on this now :D
