Bad Boys III

I haven't seen it yet, but all my respect for the two directors, Bilall & Adil, who are, like me, from Belgium.

Haven't heard anything about them returning for IV. They should've started working on Beverly Hills Cop IV a while ago.

Funny how BBIII is the most succesful movie of the year so far... :applaud

Craig Brewer might be taking over the project, which I would be very happy about. He talked about having an idea for the movie.

Really good comparison. You could throw Starship Troopers in there was well. For me, the look of Verhoeven films merge a plain looking, industrialized, steely setting with the fantastical elements of the story to create an accessible world to any viewer that may be scared off by his brand of sex, sensuality, violence, and commentary. While Miller may be capturing a similar look in his films, they almost certainly don't have that level of depth and intricacy that I've been able to see. The result of that is that his films just look bland to me.

Thank you, and fair enough.

But I do not agree with Tim Miller's work coming across as bland, as it has its own pecuiarities which makes it stand out and look very interesting, especially in "Deadpool" - I really like the way he frames and structures the shots, and the energy he creates through in-scene movement and editing sticks out, as well (he's great at creating momentum, and paying it off). It's subtle, but effective, and unlike "your average Marvel Studios" production.

I do agree that his overall work on "Terminator: Dark Fate" was less focused than on "Deadpool" and his shorts, but the screenplay didn't help, and most probably the budget, time constraints and creative differences with Cameron didn't, either. But even in that movie, there are scenes and moments that are effective and interesting, and above average.

On the contrary, I wasn't impressed with Adil & Bilal's work, at all. It came across as TV episode directing. But who knows, they might surprise me.
