After a compelling start, the motivation and actual antagonist behind the events that are set up is just silly and disappointing. The concept isn't even fresh nor is it something I wanted to see. Think Michael Bay groan inducing and poorly filmed car chases mixed with the movie "War Games." The action scenes were choppy, nauseating and filmed with far too many zooms. Also, the ending gives new meaning to the word implausible.

4/10

Killer artificial intelligence takes over and takes steps to eliminate the leadership structure of the United States through the most asinine way possible. Why not just hijack and launch a Cruise Missile or something else from the military? The only way to accomplish this task was to use a kid’s trumpet??? I usually don't over-think action flicks but come on. Also, one guard on duty to protect access to a State of the Union speech? More groans then amazement for me.

Its a movie. It's fiction. Really, what more do you expect. If a nuke was launched the movie would have been over in 30 min. What fun is that?

People take movies way too seriously....so many of us have become "movie snobs" where the only good movie is an "original movie".

I don't care about originality as long as the movie was done well. And this one was done well. Great action sequences and great pacing with good character interaction. The movie wasn't trying to be anything deeper than that...I knew it going into the movie and it didn't dissapoint. AT ALL.

I loved the movie. It was everything it was supposed to be, and it had some good character beats worked in. 8/10 for me.

Movie snob? Three of my top five movies of the year are Iron Man, Dark Knight and Incredible Hulk and I'll stand by that to the end. Nothing original about the Batman or Hulk characters hitting the silver screen and they're certainly not classified as high brow entertainment. I love popcorn flicks but it's a fine line between over-the-top fun and mindless stupidity that pulls you out of the film. Eagle Eye darts all over that line. The only real action this movie provides are two poorly filmed car chases. It relies on drama and suspense and after the reveal halfway through, there's no drama. The suspense holds and the acting is crisp but there's no way you can label this thing a good film. That's not being a movie snob at all.

4 out of 10? That seems low. Surely it's purpose was to be a good ol' fashioned popcorn thriller with a lot of nonsensical fluff and action. I mean, with a 4/10, where do the truly awful movies end up?

But, to each's his own! That's just how I rate. I start with the worst movies I've ever seen and use that at a 0/10 and work my way up, comparing it to whatever I see."

Yeah, I do the same thing mostly on a yearly basis. For the year, Eagle Eye seemed to fit high up at the 4/10 spot on movies that I've seen in theatres. I actually keep a movie journal at another web site.

Eagle Eye is at the top of my 4/10 clunkers.

The car chases are horrible. The movie strive to be a popcorn flick, and it did. But its so lifeless, I thought. I was never pulled into the plot (I know..it's unoriginal)

I enjoyed Caruso and LaBeouf's original collaboration more, but Eagle Eye wasn't as bad as a 4/10. Is it a 10/10? No, but it's a decent enough popcorn flick.

5/10

The only recent thriller I can think of that is more bland and more unremarkable than Eagle Eye is Untraceable.

The worst thing about this movie is that it feels like a movie I've seen before and I didn't like it the first time around.

This is the best movie I saw Saturday.

It's about two people being chased for two hours to find out they should of stayed put . Theres a really good twist at the middle but its not as good as the twist that takes place ten minutes into the movie and foreshadows the entire film. This film has some explosions , a car chase , airport conveyer belts , and hal's sister (although i was expecting jigsaw).

All in all , it's a fun movie that is best viewed with an open mind and a short attention span.

So at the end of all things...the voice on the phone turns out to be...

...skynet?

:oldrazz:

The film was fun. I probably wouldn't watch it a second time, but it was a fun experience. B-

the voice of Eagle Eye was sexy. Was it Jullanne Moore?

So it was halfway a rip of Portal...but I still enjoyed the film.

I would give it at least an 8/10, especially for an action flick. I thought it was thrilling, intense, exciting... Shia's acting, I thought, was a cut above what we've seen from him before, which was a pleasant surprise. I thought Monaghan also was awesome in this, and of course Billy Bob as well. Good turnout all around, and I liked the story and -- yes -- I liked the twist. So there! It was definitely worth the ticket, and I'm glad I went to see it.

I will never pay money for a movie with Shia Lebouf as the main character. Transformers 1 & 2 and Indy 4 get the pass because he is not the star. As does Even Stevens because Christy Carlson Romano was the real star.

it kinda reminded me of the comic 100 Bullets. i cant remember why.

i didn't enjoy it and i'm glad i didn't go to the imax to see it for 15bux! I was bored about halfway thru and after the big twist (which would have been better saved for the very end) I wanted to walk out.

Good lord, what a piece of pathetic junk. Not a single clever moment, well written scene, or competently staged action set-piece. Forget logic, this is the anti-logic, a film designed to infuriate those who attempt to even try to understand about the logistics of what is goin' on.

There's good "dumb" entertainment, and then there's Eagle Eye: a lazy, derivative rip-off of countless better films, but shot with all the skill and eye of an ADD-riddled blind man.

Yeah I can tell you have a similar taste in cinema as me by glancing at that list... so I am gonna take your word for it... and I really wanted to see this flick... guess I'll have to settle for the DVD.

Clearly there is. You are not the authority on what people can and cannot like. Please adjust your tone to reflect the fact that your opinion is just that, YOUR opinion and no better than anyone elses'.

And yet you paid to see a majority of the movies he has been in...
