Bad guys that you wished would have gotten away with it

It would be a total taboo, but I kind of wish Silva had won in Skyfall. Maybe only in so much as he carried on to a sequel. Has a Bond villain ever made it to a second movie, or does that only occur with special henchmen like Jaws?

Well there is Blofeld the man holding the white angora cat :). He appeared in several Bond films and was finally killed in For Your Eyes Only by Roger Moore's Bond.

Old Man Withers from Scooby Doo.

And he would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

Ahh, okay. So there is a precedent! No reason Silva couldn't have continued. I feel his defeat, satisfying as it was, would have been even more so after another movie. Plus he was just so much fun every time he was on screen, it would have been nice to see him play cat and mouse with Bond a second time around.

I would like to add Dracula to the list :) Always wanted Drac to get the girl and not necessarily Kill Harker. And Phantom of the Opera as well.

Also, Drexl Spivey (Gary Oldman) in True Romance.

Also, no matter how horrible he was, I'll always have a soft spot for Norm Stansfield.

Heh. I also kinda wish Dooku woulda made it. Far more mature than a mute brute and a kid wanting to keep getting some Space-Venice nookie.

On that note, I wish Saruman lived.

DeNiro's character in Heat & Agent Smith in The Matrix.

Actually, Silva in a way did win. He got the hard drive, killed "M", embarrassed her, got a bunch of NATO agents killed, and got his revenge, while teaching her and Bond a lesson. He got everything he wanted in that movie. Except, you know...living.

Tony Montana- kinda, but glad he didn't at the same (if that makes any sort of sense)

Pennywise- IT

How about Seven. Sure he turned himself in but it was for a purpose. And in doing so he did get away with "it" :)

He won, sure. But did he "get away with it", such is the thread title? I suppose he did, to a point. Dying didn't seem like part of his plan though, I got the impression his intention was to run off and spend the rest of his life doing whatever. So he did get away with it, but only for about 30 seconds :D

Fair enough.

Obviously, Breaking Bad hasn't ended, but if my predictions are correct, i hope walt gets away with it.

Azazel in Fallen. Oh wait, he DID get away with it. Probably why I love that film so much.

True! And that would be easy to cover up after a little plastic surgery.

I don't think they had plastic surgery in the 1940's. Or at least, not very good plastic surgery as they have today.

In Film:

Roland Tembo from The Lost World, if he can be considered a real bad guy and not designated as the bad guy.

In Television:

Tywin Lannister and Dany Targaryen.
