Barry Keoghan is Officer Stanley Merkel... or is he?

First, didn’t you say the guy’s not Barry?

Second, he’s dressed just like the cops at the Riddler murder scene.

Third, 20 is still too old for Robin, especially next to Rob!

First: I still don’t think that guy is Barry but I also said it could be his stand in. Barry has very unique slanted eyes and none of the pics look like him to me. Everything else about the guy looks similar. If a clear HQ photo comes out from yesterday and reveals to be Barry, I’ll tell you that you’re right. Until then, it’s a no from me.

Second: he’s not wearing what the cops are wearing in the trailer. It’s a different jacket, one that has a small white brand logo on it. He’s a valet.

Third: I disagree that 18-20 is too old for this Robin. You’re absolutely stuck on “child Robin” from the comics and animation and refuse to open your mind to a Dick Grayson who is too old to be adopted by a 28-30 year old Bruce and too young to be compared to the mid/late 20’s detective John Blake. A middle ground can exist. If Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield can play a 16 year old when they were pushing 30...then a 27 year old Barry Keoghan can play a 16-20 Robin no problem whatsoever. Even if he WAS adopted, I think it can work.

He cannot play 16 to 20. Not next to Rob. And why would Rob's 30 year old Bruce Wayne adopt a 20 year old? Come on, dude. Think about it for two seconds.

You’re not reading properly. As usual. I said Barry could play 16-20, meaning if he was underaged he could be adopted. Obviously.

But most likely he’d be a young adult who isn’t adopted. This whole “you can’t do Robin unless he’s adopted!” vibes scream of purist to me. Not just you. A lot of ppl give off that vibe.

And yes, Keoghan can absolutely play 16 to 20 because that’s what he’s been doing his whole career up to this point.

Watch, Barry is going to be this movie’s Anthony Michael Hall. And I’m going to look back on some of these theories and laugh.

Anthony Michael Hall was the Riddler but Nolan changed his part last minute because he doesn't like the fans figuring things out pre-release.

Am I the only one scratching my head over why Barry seems to suddenly be everywhere? I have nothing against the guy but how did he get all these high profile roles all of a sudden? He was fine in Dunkirk but did he have some other breakout role that wowed everyone?

I've never heard this. Only the theory that Coleman Reese was Riddler because he figured out Batman's identity and "Mr. Reese" sounds like "mysteries"

Oh I was just joking here. Part of another discussion I was thinking of where we say wild/stupid Dark Knight theories.

I do remember the Mr. Reese, mysteries thing though.
