Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 2

lol, I don't see how people are in denial about Arkham Origins not being canon to to Rocksteady's work. Arkham Knight takes some things from Origins such as the character model of Gordon, but make him older. I find his model much different from Asylum and City. The new Batsuit in Knight is heavily inspired by Origins when you look at both suits very closely. Main difference is that the materials used is more advanced and sleek. I think it's a cool throwback to his younger years as Batman. Besides something like that, Origins fits fine within the universe, in my eyes.

In other news, PlayStation just uploaded some new pictures.

I still think the Arkham Knight is
[BLACKOUT]HUSH - Thomas Elliot[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]HUSH - Thomas Elliot[/BLACKOUT]
That would mean
He finally admits knowing Bruce is Batman. Things will be really interesting from there IF that happens

Azrael has no reason to play the role
Maybe someone else recruited by the order of St. Dumas

Arkham Knight has to be some new character under the mask otherwise it doesn't make sense to create him in the first place.

If it's not new it becomes just another lame arse comic book plot twist whereby it's some character from the past resurrected, I'm frankly sick of that crap. I don't believe for a second Rocksteady will do it, they've more or less used the entire Batman mythology in the games to date, the only thing left is for them to add their own piece to the story. Lets not forget they actually killed off the Joker so they've already shown they're playing by their own rules.

As much as I want to believe Joker is truly , truly dead, I am not holding my breath.

If he is a new character why do they want to keep who is such a secret?

Because maybe they want you to find out along with Batman. What good does it do if you're given his entire background before you've seen the story?

Haven't they flat out said he's dead? Lets remember this isn't comic books we're dealing with where 'dead' is used loosely. This is more like the Nolan equivalent to gaming, it's its own universe.

They said it, but I am one of those people who will not fully accept it until I've seen the game.

He's dead dude, it's like Two-Face in TDK, he ain't coming back. The entire story in fact seems to revolve around that he's dead. I don't understand the scepticism to be perfectly honest.

Because every time the word "dead" in used in comics, it means absolutely jack s**t. This may be a "new" universe, but its still a comic book property and Rocksteady has an easy ass out in the Lazerus Pit and its absolutely NOTHING like Nolans world as that was a "realistic" world, the Arkham Verse is CLEARLY not.

With that said though, im with you in that I think dude is gone, but to not understand why some are skeptical, is well, really short sighted.

Yea Im going to agree with that. Don't think RS goes to all this trouble to come up with some new character only to have the mask come off and its Hush, or Red Hood or some other past character. I think RS wants to leave their mark on the Batman mythos and creating a new character could be just that.

I also think it'll be neat for the player to go on the same journey as bats in discovering just who this Arkham Knight really is.

Agreed!

Seriously, can Nolan's name be brought up without people bringing up the realism aspect which was not what I was referring to?

Scepticism is unwarranted because it's a different medium. It's the same nonsense that was the reason people didn't want to believe Dent was dead in TDK, they are so conditioned to the idea of dead not being dead on the page when someone actually dies in another medium there's a sense of denial about it. Just because it's a comic book property does not mean the same rules apply in another medium, in fact I think we can all agree that Rocksteady have gone out of their way to make their Batman world, not some other persons Batman world, so I stand by what I said, I don't understand the scepticism. This all comes back to people not being able to separate one medium from another and that honestly annoys the living **** out of me.

This. If the mask comes off and it's a character we know Im going to be disappointed. Personally I think it would be cool if it Arkham Knight ends up being related to Amadeus Arkham or maybe a former guard at Arkham gone over the edge.

Doesnt matter what medium it is, Rocksteady are playing by the same rules. Solomon Grundy is a perfect example of that. The dude was a dead character, brought back to life by, something. Same with Ra's. We saw his dead ass body in the morgue during the first game. So the possibility of resurrection exists in this world, rather you want to admit it or not. So, we have the ability to bring dead characters back to life, in this world and we have a LOOOOONG history of characters being brought back to life in mediums that these characters are based off of. You lacking the ability to understand why some are skeptical is just your own short coming. Most everyone else can understand it as its not a difficult concept to grasp.

What planet are you living on? Of course it matters what medium it is, they are not playing by the same rules any more than what Nolan did. It's their take on Batman, they can pick and chose who they want to kill off because, newsflash, it's not part of the comic book canon. When you're not part of canon you're free to do as you please more or less. Supernatural elements are frankly irrelevant, they can choose what they want to do, what they want to change, who they want to add, if anyone has trouble coming to terms with that they need to have a look at themselves in the mirror because this isn't the comic books. They killed off The Joker, there's nothing to be sceptical about that fact, they have no reason to fabricate that as it's the last part of their story, it's only skeptical if you continue to look at it through the lens of a comic book, which this isn't.

Well I think we're all doing what rocksteady wants, we're piddling with the same hand full of worn out names that had loose ends from AC. that way when we find who the character is and we're genuinely surprised.

But if it's just a guy named Charles White, why does he have a personnel vendetta with Batman? It just makes more sense that's it's someone already established.

Arkham Knight being Hush was my first guess, he wanted to look like Bruce Wayne, maybe he learns Batman's identity and wants to do something similar. Jason Todd is another possibility i guess.

BUT, the Knight has this 'Arkham'-thing going, would that make sense with Hush or Jason? I don't think they really have a connection with Arkham Asylum or City. Ok, Elliot was in Arkham and Arkham might just stand for "anti-Batman", but I don't know..

Why can't Mr White have a vendetta against Batman? Use your imagination.

Not exactly the Nolan equivalent, but in adaptions dead does stay dead
Like Joker and Penguin in the Burton movies

Comic adaptions don't exactly follow that rule
Mysterio's death was an actual death in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon

Sefton Hill said Joker is Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. But developers have misled us before.
