Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 4

Saturday is the first day of the PlayStation Experience convention. The part 3 trailer will debut there.

Honestly, I'm not all that worked up on a miniscule trailer, but it didn't show us all that much. Again, I am skeptical the actual game will look that good...at least on consoles.

I am sure it will be a great looking game and everything, but it's not going to look that crisp and pristine in-game.

Rocksteadys last two offerings were visually exceptional, this game will be no different. It'll be one of those games that people see and feel the need to update to a new console, assuming they haven't yet.

The Arkham games looked visually very nice, but I am still skeptical the in-game action will resemble that second trailer.

Yea and theres good reason to be, but IDK, Rocksteady has never disappointed in that department. I think we'll all be pretty impressed come release.

I think a good portion of these trailers are stylised cinematics but I have no doubt the gameplay visuals will be amazing. The gameplay footage they've shown already looks fantastic.

I just thought of something. I recently replayed Arkham City. And saw an old easter egg that I don't think people realize is important to who is the Arkham Knight. Early on in Arkham City while you're Bruce Wayne, we see Azrael on a rooftop watching you. It's highly likely Azrael's warning to Batman was about the Arkham Knight.

So when you think about it, nothing in Arkham City has to do with the Arkham Knight's motivation. He can't be Damian because Talia died after Azrael came to Gotham to warn Batman. He can't be Joker (like some fan theories) because it seems the Arkham Knight already exists and is planing against Batman during Arkham City.

So when you think about it, it's not what happened in Arkham City but what happened in Arkham Asylum which would influence the Arkham Knight's motivation. One of the key things in Asylum was Titan. At the end of Asylum, we see Scarecrow grabbing a box of Titan that's in the water. It's likely Titan is connected to the Arkham Knight and that's how Scarecrow somehow reached out to the Arkham Knight due to the contents in the Titan box. There could be another way it's connected. Titan was created by Dr Young.

Just a thought but I really think the Arkham Knight is a new character and not a clone or someone else.

Everyone assumes Knight is an existing character. He could be someone that has never appeared in other media before.

The possible leaked synopsis suggested as much. However it could be completely wrong.

Agreed. They did flat out say he was created for the game. Not that he was an existing character in a new get up.

The Arkham Knight is a new character...however the man behind the mask might not be. Red herrings are common ;)

I'd rather it be someone completely new. So uninspired if its someone who already exist.

yep I'm the same way Ala Mystery of the Bat woman & Mask of the phantasm or don't bother.

Those animated movies of Batman TAS were done well.

I hope it's the Joker. Not because that would be good or anything. I'd be frankly rather put off, but it'd just be so amazingly stupid and in line with previous games.

Oh, and the question of how he'd alive is never revealed. Like, it's not even brought up.

He was secretly the Arkham Knight all along, and Scarecrow is unceremoniously thrown off a building to make way for Joker, who has actually impersonated every other villain in the story so far.

The last fifteen minutes consists entirely of the rest of the rogues gallery being devalued in order to prop up Joker, who is the one character who really does not need that at all.

He was also My Freeze's wife in the box.

Did you guys ever consider Rocksteady are just saying AK is a brand new character to throw you off the scent?

I don't think he's Joker but I do believe Joker will appear, despite Rocksteady's claims otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that has been the prevailing theory since the day AK was revealed :funny:

If he is, I am rioting. Have scarecrow be the main villain here. Don't throw in Joker. We've had our fair share of Joker. At least, he should only get like a mention in this.

If Joker appears or is Arkham Knight, it just proves that we can't have anything Batman-related that has nothing to do with him.

I'm sure you will have a scene where Scarecrow gives off a nightmare and Joker's in it.

That's not true at all. There is plenty of Batman-related media that has nothing to do with the Joker. However, he is a completely essential part of the Batman universe -- literally the ying to Batman's yang -- and should have a presence in most Batman interpretations.

Having said that, there's no way that he's the Arkham Knight and everyone should stop worrying about it.

Awesome stuff... although I would have liked a little more Scarecrow and/or Arkham Knight.

Conroy is sounding subtle and badass, so I'm hoping they gove him some meatier material compared to what he had in the last two games. However, I've never been a fan of Rocksteady's secondary characters as they never seem to get the mouth movements looking at least a little natural.

Am I the only one disappointed, that the only thing they can come up with is a giant Scarecrow?
