Batman: Arkham Knight

They're better off bringing back the Data packs, slash it down to maybe 50 and hide them in obscure places rather than make more puzzles, maybe you collect enough to put together surveillance videos? My favourite ones where when you'd find this nook or cranny. I did all the trophies on Bleake Island and none of was enjoyable, just tedious.

Harley Quinn took you 10 minutes?? It took me like 25 or 30 minutes.
10 minutes, MAYBE 20, if I count the little amount of exploring I tried to do (which the level allows for next to none). I'm REALLY disappointed with it, especially considering there were a lot of really good ideas in the design and aesthetic.

Yeah I flew through the Harley Quinn DLC. No challenge to it whatsoever.

I just find them annoying. I have in every game. They just make me not want to play a lot of the time. But I want the full ending.

Playing this game, 99% of the time you'd never realize it was meant to be set on Halloween night. The only time you get reminded that it is Halloween is when you hear one of the street thugs mention it, or you come across one of the two or three pieces of small Halloween decor around the city.

Yeah I noticed that to. In origins you saw christmase lights and the music had a christmase sound to it. I thought with this game being set on Halloween night that the soundtrack might have kind of a Halloween sound to it.

Yeah, 10 minutes is pretty short. It took me longer, but still. I liked it, but it sorely needed some kind of replay hook. Medals, or bonuses, or Wayne Enterprise upgrade points or something. I haven't played the Red Hood DLC yet, but I'm expecting it to be the same.

I'm hoping the Harley DLC being a pre-order DLC was on the short end of the later Episodes I think we'll get, I mean...$40 for a Season Pass and all.

Now, I'm almost half way though the Riddler trophies, I'm at about 117 or so. But, I can't these being a bigger pain in the ass than the Arkham City Riddler Trophies. I haven't really started to grind through them all yet, so take that for what you will.

But, there were a ****ing lot of Riddler trophies in AC (400!). Those were a huge pain in the ass for me. I can't see these being a bigger pain.

These Riddler trophies are annoying... I really hate doing them. I hope by the next game, whatever it is.. that they make this crap enjoyable.. or at least take them down a notch. 100 or less.

I'm glad they at least scaled it back from the 400 (440 with Catwoman) Arkham City had.

The halloween night theme is definitely poor when you compare to Origins's christmas eve and I guess morning.

Agreed... I just really hope we get an Origins HD Next Gen upgrade if we get the Akrham Collection.

If not then just put them on the XB1 BC list and I'll be good.

Doubtful.

I just keep seeing Origins get, unfairly, thrown under the bus for being the non-Rocksteady entry.

Origins needs a big remaster titled Developers Cut

Indeed. I didn't even know it was set during Halloween until a goon said so.

3. Knight - This could be higher but the game had like zero real boss fights. With all the talk about fights at least the other 3 games still had boss fights this game basically had none and batmobil is cool but over used. If the game had some really boss fights it would be maybe my favorite.

This was actually my favorite part of the game. I didn't mind the boss fights in the other two, but considering who the bad guys are for most of these, I liked that they didn't go too "gamey" and make every encounter something ridiculous. A boss fight for Bane or Mr. Freeze? Makes sense. A boss fight for Penguin or Scarecrow? Not so much (although the Asylum Scarecrow stuff was very cool.)

If there was any fight, I thought it should've been against the Knight as opposed to Professor Pyg lol. Still, I thought it was awesome that they took a different approach, and made going through their swarms of henchmen the real challenge.

I still don't know who professor pyg is lol. While I think if this game wasn't so good over all there would have been even more hate over not really having fights. This is like the first action/adventure game like ever that didn't really have a boss fight.

I hope actual batmobiles make it in the dlc and not just paint jobs.

Yeah so do I if they are just paint jobs they are bascily pointless.

Yeah, it's surprising to me. Maybe my expectations were too high - but I don't think that's the reason for my mixed reaction. Rocksteady had such a long time to create this game too. The side missions are tired and straightforward - Pyg's is the best, but again, it's easy as pie. And indeed, the bomb disarming, fire fighter rescuing stuff is more of a chore than fun. I'm still underwhelmed with the Arkham Knight's identity too. That safe vibe permeates the game - aside from some great moments - the story isn't a complete loss. I do like the arc Batman goes on, mentally. It's a good game, but not a great one like I was expecting.

Expectations are a funny thing, for too long I've held expectations that creative teams like Rocksteady would actually rise above the cliches and actually add something to the Batman mythology, and each every time I do that they end up disappointing me because they fall back on lazy comic book tropes that have existed for as long as I can remember. There's something inherently built into comic story telling whereby the word 'new' is defined by working within what's already there instead of what it should mean, and I for the life of me don't understand why. Too much faith on my part for Rocksteady to actually leave their own mark on the Batman mythology, instead they've just resorted to the same crap many comic books do when there's some mysterious new character.

I think expectations are at the root of someone's disappointment with this, because I think it's easily the best of the Arkham Series. I didn't enjoy the reveal of who the Arkham Knight was, and the Batmobile stuff does get tedious, but the game's great IMO.

The side missions actually made sense, as far as saving firefighters and disarming bombs etc., in terms of the occupation that's happening & because it's stuff I think Batman should be doing in such a situation. One of my biggest gripes with the first two Arkham games (AC in particular), was the story. I thought it was horrid mostly, with great gameplay backing it up. Here, outside of Arkham Knight himself (who, by extension, does create whatever ridiculous elements there are in the game), I thought it was stellar.

Also the amount of detective work he does in this (even if they hold your hand through most of it) made me feel like the Dark Knight Detective for a change too, and not just a brawler. I just think this is fully realized version of Batman that can stand right along the animated series, movies and comics.

My sympathy to anyone suffering those riddles for the first time. The most frustrating ones yet of the 4 games.

I thought they were way easier than the ones in Arkham City, given that there were less of them and none of them involved graffiti scanning or gliding-based puzzles.

I never liked those, the gliding into the buttons back and forth off the walls. No thanks haha.

Is it bad I'm more excited for the DLC than I was for the actual game? :funny: I won't get a chance to play it until a few days after release though.

how can i access an "earlier" save?...i´m literally stuck in one part and i can´t load a previous save to the one i´m stuck (unless it´s a PS4 thing)

on the file select screen, u have the selector over ur file and hold down L1

Finally 100% the game
i was impressed, though if i did have to nitpick i wish a few more villains got boss battles
