Batman: Arkham Knight

I would love to see a Batman Beyond game that is an original story based on the comics history rather than the animated series. I wasn't a fan of how the animated series handled things like Batgirl and Nightwing's relationship or saying how Tim Drake just quit. Plus I'd like to see how Damien would fit in the Beyond verse. I think that Batman's sidekicks could make for interesting and somewhat estranged supporting cast.

Are you talking about the current ongoing Batman Beyond comic that's been going on for awhile now?

Tim Drake didn't just quit. He was physically and psychologically tortured by the Joker which lead to him leaving.

Would you guys be open to a Batman Beyond game?

Yes. I think it would be the best and most unique idea for another Bat-universe series. It's something that will allow for completely different game mechanics and also a completely new (futuristic) setting, whilst still being tied to the previous Arkham series.

Would be interesting to see how they would adapt the villain Blight and others from Terry's rogues gallery.

I dislike almost all of the ideas the comics recently came up with in regards to Batman Beyond.

I'd rather Dini/Burnett/Timm do another story in that world or at least give Dini the chance to come up with a story for a potential game.

That's the only Batman game I'd be open, to.
I haven't even played AK yet and I'm not looking forward to. Maybe when it's for $10 and I have absolutely nothing else to do or play.

Beyond could be a great change of pace.

Bruce Wayne is the only Batman I care about. I have zero interest in some teenager becoming Batman. Do another game with Bruce Wayne as Batman. Either a sequel to Origins or a whole separate new Bruce Wayne/Batman story.

If they actively tried to adapt and expand upon Morrison's concept of Batman 666 then I'd be all for it, provided they make Gotham suitably hellish and try to focus on newer villains.

Yeah, to me there is only one real Batman...Bruce Wayne.
But i could live with Damian if he is done well and looks the part(batman 666).

A batman beyond game would be awful to me, i hate most of the future superhero timelines.
Spider-Man Edge of time ruined a possible good franchise with the heavy focus on the future spider-man timeline...so there is that.

But for now i will wait for the annoucement.

Flamingo was mentioned in the leak, and it'd be cool to see Pyg again, considering he's an enemy of Dick and Damian more than Bruce.

I loved that Pyg was in Knight, so I'd be all for him again in a new game.

I wouldn't be opposed to WB Montreal making a Two-Face centric Batman story driven game, and Rocksteady making something new, either a completely new franchise from scratch or another DC hero like Superman, Flash or Green Lantern.

Cassandra Cain Batgirl game, please!!

( I know......I know.......but I can dream, right? )

I'm late to the party but did anyone else really dislike the tank combat in the game? Namely how much there was and how big a focus it was?

It really didn't feel "Batman", felt more like some generic tank or mech game really. One of the reasons I didn't bother to get the 100% completion.

For what should have been the ultimate Batman simulator it feels like that element was ported from another game.

It was fine as an inclusion, but yeesh, they really felt the need to reinforce just how hard they worked on it by making it a bigger part of the story than need be.

The Batmobile itself is great and a wonderful addition. But the amount they make you rely on it is a negative. And the fact that you needed it for a lot of riddles, a lot of the side missions and boss fights. It was shoved down our throats.

One of the biggest criticisms Knight gets is the tank battles pretty much replacing hand to hand combat. Especially the battle with

Deathstroke which was simply a rehash of the earlier tank battle with Arkham Knight. I would have forgiven this if there was some hand to hand combat afterwards. Sadly that didn't happen and Batman easily defeats Slade with a simple punch.

That boss fight being a tank battle....that should have been a ****ing crime. How anyone thought that was a good idea, and that it's what fans wanted should have their mental stability evaluated. It's insane that thing went down, at all. Literally, one of the most dangerous people in that universe in hand to hand combat, and it goes down to a tank battle? Ridiculous.

I'm down for a Batman Beyond game. I'm not sure if it can be that close to the TV show, or even the current comics for that matter. Never quite found the right Batman Beyond story, I think. I enjoyed the Joker movie and a couple episodes of the show, especially the JLU one. But, I don't know. I think the early idea I heard kicked around about having Damien take up the mantle while his father, Bruce, mentors him might be a different enough angle for me to be onboard while keeping the cyberpunk, Blade Runner Batman future intact to make it visually amazing. As long as they deliver on the cyberpunk Batman future, I'm very flexible on the other stuff. Go with Terry, or Damien, whatever. The aesthetics need to be there, though.
