Why was the game as divisive as it was? I mean...it had the same combat correct? And I've heard tons of positive things about the story.
Oh, it's long story I fallowed it for the hype with a podcast's both video and audio from both GameInformer and EPN.tv Aka the electric play ground .
the latter news oulet was cause vic's big Batman fan of insane levels and he MC most of the batman arkham games for each of the comic con's
and what happened was that origins was made to keep the fans busy cause there was impatience on the for Rocksteady and one of the dev's said some that annoyed people of fan base. that the third installment wasn't being worked at all ., he thought he was being cleverly coy. But it got ugly.
so WBE form a fast team with studio and had this game of origins being made in less then 2 years as show by game informer. while arkham knight was being worked on , now all was going and Epn.tv went to visit wb Montreal before TGS took place this happened in the fall befor NYCC and just after TGS. where they were interviewed EPN.tv and they said on tape they were clear the last of their bugs cause it was their final bug test. which was faster then expected. truth be told those were warning signs that WBE rushed the wb Montreal studio . this was game made in less then 4 years. and sadly when the game came out there were bug's still and they were the types you'd see in a fallout game from Bethesda or where some fans had problems getting past certain parts in -game missions or you have odd body movement of the characters or batman him self or him falling through the world. or have willinging lege or arms like squids
Now this got fan certain way not used to that really mad and they blamed the wrong people. wb Montreal weren't allowed to call for a pushed back to the boss's at WBE, the latter of which over see the game studios.
Rock steady were allowed with their first game of arkham called for a push back and were allowed to the delay the game for 3 months to polish the game.
Sadly WB montreal wasn't allowed this and to any that doesn't know these details all that matter to them was there was a buggy game and they blamed the dev's on it. but they didn't know the full details if they fallowed every from the first interview it was clear from the announcement of the game to the point of launch this was too fast by video game standards . and that last inter view with scott and Vic that ssaw them before they were ready to launch they had doubt's from that pod cast interview. most of us on the hype that heard that podcast realised the was rushed . and they sadly weren't give anyway to say we like to push the game back for polish. andWBe in less then month announced arkham knight. but all those out side of the hype they just knew the game was buggy for them and the blame went to the wrong people. there element of a good with orgins it just need time to be fully baked and the publisher is supposed to go over the game befor launch but these these there are alot of them that seem to put studio's in bad position of late. and that's what happened there.
they tried to fix and there was a director cut of sorts too.
But too many are stubborn these days and when arham knight came out they saw WB Montreal did some of the DLC for arkhaham night certain people were in shock it was them . the dlc of bat girl was well done and better then even rock steadys. but too many are hard to convince . WB Montreal have earned the right to be given a change to make another game though and even rocksteady backed them up during E3 on you tube video with shefton hill saying what took place in arkham origin was canon and they left easter from that and had them in arkahm knight.
