Batman: Battle for the cowl

something worse than death to Bruce could be breaking his code of not killing. He might have to use that god bullet to kill Darkseid. In the end he is so overwhelmed that he killed someone he disappears.

I think that if Batman decides to call it quits, the new Batman should be Dick Grayson. Makes sense anyway, after all they did cancel the Nightwing book:cwink:.

They only "cancelled" the Nightwing book. I think they they will probably relaunch it and Robin (with new titles) by May of this year.

Wild guess, I stopped reading thebooks a long time ago. I only read graphic novels, collected of course. Call me lazy.

I think it's pretty obvious that when all is said and done the new Batman and Robin (for a while at least) will be Dick Greyson and Damian. I'm more interested at this point in what the other characters will become if anything.

I wonder if Tim becomes Nightwing and Todd will become Red Robin...wasn't one of those confirmed?

the titles will be back in June

Eh, one month off.

What's your source for this?

No freaking way. Nightwing is not and was never intended to be a legacy character. Nightwing was invented by Dick Grayson.

^ And that's the way it will stay. And I think Jason has been confirmed as coming back to be Red Robin

SAUSE?!

Seriously where are all these confirmations coming from?

Were Batman, Robin or Batgirl ever intended to pass hands to new people? Why not Nightwing? However, imo, Dick Grayson should not be Batman as he's established as his own hero, he's not a side kick anymore.

imo the whole nightwing series has been a build up for him to become batman

If Jason does become Red Robin, and Tim becomes Nightwing, and Dick become Batman, I think it could lead to some very interesting stories. When Bruce was bats he was always above everyone around him, in essence the father figure. Even if members of the bat family were close to being on par with him he exceeded them in some way. With those three running the show it changes things, I mean it's basically three "brothers" who now have to take over the never ending battle. I think it opens up so many new possibilities, and interesting ideas that we may have been waiting for. Like how will I Dick handle carrying the mantle, will he become obsessive like Bruce did? Will Tim resent Dick for not being the Batman he thinks he should be? Will Jason be waiting to turn the tables on everyone yet again? Like I said it sounds interesting to me. Give me feed back.

my memory. which is highly unreliable. but i know BOTC starts in March and runs for three issues, so June still makes lot of sense that way. BOTC only runs while the others are canceled. it was an interview with Dildio somewhere.

this has not been confirmed nor even mentioned anywhere for while. and the Red Robin in the Robin book was revealed as some other dude if that's what you're thinking of

Thanks Margon! :)

Because Nightwing was almost a way to break away from the Bat-family and have Dick come into is own as a super hero. Although I will say that as of late I think the Nightwing comics do point to Dick being Batman, at least for a time.

what if they decide to incorporate Terry McGinnis in the Battle for the Cowl storyline? long shot i know but it would throw things out of whack

I always liked Terry McGinnis and Batman Beyond, and that's a big reason why I don't want another Batman, because I want him to be the second official Batman, but he couldn't be incorporated for at least 30 years. He symbolizes a Batman for the next generation, and if you add him now it may as well just be any character as Batman.

In hindsight I think that the comics are painting both Dick and Tim into the role.

I am Batman!

From left to right (note: this is my opinion on who is who):
Tim Drake, then we get Harley and Alfred. Dick Grayson on the mittle and then we got the red/black Batman which is Harvey Two-face (just zoom in to his face and you can see the scarred face). And then we have a gun blazing Batman, could this be Deadshot? =P Then theres Batwoman, Damian and by the looks of it, the Bruce Wayne having paper-wrappings is a strong hint for him being Hush, but the question is: What hint is the arm coming from Wayne Enterprises box?

That layout looks cheesy.
