Hope this belongs here but i finally say this film..for the FIRST time today, and all i can say is wow! I know it's been out for sometime now, i just can't believe i've deprived myself of such a treat for so long.

I'd really like to know what became of the fim makers, the cast, etc, as i know this was done to promote their skills.

Plus i couldn't seem to find a thread to chat about it....

Batsuit is daed spot on but the story is bit...

Wow, i just read the budget was $30,000.

"Wasamatta, FREAK?! Can't take a little JOKE?!"

Classic!!!

Always loved these little fanfilms. Check out Grayson and World's Finest, if you haven't already.

When I saw this I was a bit impressed with some of the cool images of Batman such as when he lands in that puddle of water and stands up but once I gave it a second viewing I couldn´t help but laugh at how ridiculous The Joker looked and that god awful laugh that actor did

The first moments with the Joker were great. I loved the "bastard child you won't take care of" line, but I didn't care much about the Alien Vs. Predator sequences.

I actually thought the parts with Joker's dialogue were the worst part of the film, the rest rocked.

Every costume there was handmade from scratch, including the Alien and three Predator costumes. I think (if I remember properly) Colorra's girlfriend wanted to add some costume production to her CV so nothing in those was store bought.

My favorite bit is when the rat shuffles past.

I just wish it were in English.

But again, even The Joker in Arkham Asylum sucks. I've only seen one fanfilm where the Joker is spot on.

Dead End is real good. Darn fine job on the costumes and effects.

Yea I thought Dead End was fairly entertaining. Didn't care too much for the white contact lenses on Bats, but still an enjoyable fan film.

God, I remember when that came out, I was freaking out over it. I think it was a bit before Chris Nolan was announced as director of the next Batman film, and the Batman boards were crazy with tons of people coming up with ideas for a new Batman movie. I remember, when I first saw it, I wanted Clark Bartram to be the next Batman lol. :o But that was before I even considered Bale. :batman:

I remember being extremely giddy upon hearing about this. I love the Bats/Joker dialogue. There was some kickass imagery too. When Bats stands up in the puddle, the way the cape is positioned and flows and he rises, then he gets a determined look on his face as the opening theme to Mask of the Phantasm plays ...Christ, that's good stuff.

The Alien/Predator stuff was a bit WTF, but I enjoyed the fight choreography.
Patient J, imo.
Excellent characterization. The laugh was a bit forced at times, but I thought they handled the Joker persona extremely well.

Funny... I just saw a feature length movie ("Primer") that really rocked, that was made for only $7000. It really puts into perspective that Dead End is just eight minutes of cheesy crap made for more than 4 times that budget.

I never got what the fascination was with Dead End. The story is too short to be called a story, the dialogue is lame, the acting is terribly weak and the cloth batsuit may give hardcore comic fans a geekgasm, but it looks silly to me. It isn't shot badly. That's about all I can say for it.

The Dead End costume was terrific. It looked like a man in a costume, not some guy squeezed into suffocating rubber. Very authentic to the comics.

someone shared Dead End with me a year or more ago, and i have to agree it's a very interesting piece... i'm not a Preditor/Alien fan, but that didn't detract from it one iota... i like the way the Joker was portrayed, and if nothing else, it's apparent that everyone involved had a lot of fun making it!

I think the Joker was the WORST part of this movie.

Call us geeks and all, but that fan film brought comic book imagery to screen in a realistic looking way. I don't love every little thing about Dead End, but the suit looks good. Functional, flexible. A suit a guy could fight and jump and climb while wearing. Not just rubber "armor".
