Batman Gadget Question?

Hello to everyone in this community and from what i have read so far i am glad i have joined. My question is in the batman mythology when does batman first use his line launcher. I have been playing a lot of arkham city recently (MASTERPIECE) and have recently watched burton's first batman film and very curious if burton came up with it first.

I don't think Adam West ever used the line launcher. He used to throw his Batrope (up ridiculous heights! ) before he climbed a building. So I think Burton/Keaton Batman must have been the first live-action. I don't remember seeing it in the comics before Batman '89 either...


Edit: Okay, after a bit of digging I've found that Batman first used a grappling hook gun in Justice League of America #196 in 1981!

Hey MilkTray Guy, I was wondering how did you manageto find out ? I mean, where to begin the investigation. I went through some of my oldest batman comics but couldn't find anything.
I'm just curious.
