I read somewhere on an interview on "Batman Begins" with Nolan is that he thought "Tim Burton's Batman was a brilliant and visionary movie". So there you have it, Nolan loved the movie and i think he's paying tribute to the first two movies he admired from Burton with this new series.

What I read was that Nolan felt the movie was great for its time but now it has to be done differently.

Bale also loves those films. Back when he was rumored for the Batman vs. Superman project he said he loved the Burton films. However, I doubt he'd say that now.

Interests conflict. To say they loved them could be read as 'then why are we doing it again?'

Well of course he did its a great movie.

Absolutely. Who the hell wouldn't love Batman 89?! Saw it again the other day, man I still wish Burton made the third film. He would have done the riddler so well.

yeah, Batman is my upmost favorite film of all time. It would have been real interesting to see what what've came about had Burton & Keaton made a third film.

Hmm, I didn't know that. Well, it's nice to see that Nolan also regards B89 as good but separate entity from BB.

I guess he took part of his inspiration from B89 and Blade Runner, because I remember reading an interview where Nolan was talking about making BB and how he sat the cast and crew down to watch Blade Runner and said that was how BB was going to be stylized.

Nolan on crack: I lOVED Batman and robin! Hope i can atleast make TDK That good!!

oh man, did he really say that? do you have a link to where he said that? what interview was it? i'd really like to read that for myself!

Thats cool I wonder what Burton though of BB, I still say to this day there are some pretty direct references to 89 in BB.

I remember Burton said he liked Batman Begins and joked that at this point he was eager to see a new twist in superhero movies from the dark psychological tone. Something like he wanted a pink spandex superhero or something.

Well, basically he said he liked it.

Cool. I'm glad he liked it.

But, in no way do i see how he's paying tribute to them in BB and TDK.

But did he really love it, or does he reckon that's just what Batman fans want to hear him say? I mean, look at this. You guys like him even more now that he's stated he loves Batman.

I love Batman '89 even more now after seeing the horrible pic of Ledger as Joker, thank goodness we'll always have Nicholson. Hopefully that pic is only the first stage of joker's transformation. *crosses fingers*

The pic of Ledger hasn't changed my opinion of Jack as the Joker. A role I thought he was excellent in.

I always just thought it was a classic Batman line. Like the Joker randomly laughing hysterically. You wouldn't say Nicholson's Joker, Hamill's Joker, and the comics Joker ripped it from Ceaser Romero, now would you.

Can you not tell the difference between rip-off and homage?

Batman Begins was very respectful of Burton's work.

"I'm Batman"

The Rachael in the Batmobile scene is a combination of "Descent into Mystery" and when the Penguin took over the Batmobile in Batman Returns.

The two bat-glider parts.

A shot of Bale with a really pissed off look on his face driving the Batmobile is the exact same shot of Keaton with a really pissed off look on his driving the Batmobile.

I picked up on these things too.
