In a few weeks, I'm having a Batman-themed costume party for my friends to celebrate the release of the Dark Knight, and I'd like some ideas for things like food, decorations, and general party activities. I have a pretty fun group of friends, but I think it'd be cool to really go all out on this and make it awesome for them. No alcohol ideas please. We're all under 21.

Please help! Any input is appreciated. I'm pretty crafty and a good cook, so don't count anything out based on difficulty!

Pin the moustache on Commissioner Gordon!

Oh **** I am SO doing this. Someone get me a high-res picture of comic-Gordon or Gary Oldman!

I was thinking about doing something similar, but I don't think it'll happen because I've been working a lot and have been crunched for time.

But I was going to have my friends over on the 17th, make everyone dress up in Bat-character costumes and just hang out and watch Batman and Batman Begins.

As for decorations, you can get Batman plates, napkins, tableclothes, balloons, favors, etc at pretty much any Party City or Party Fair or whatever local party store you have. I haven't been to them recently so I don't know if they have any TDK stuff, but you're almost certain to find plenty of comic-style or The Batman themed stuff.

The Batman Trivia Game is fun and really, really challenging. I bought it a few years ago and I'm sure it's still available - but be prepared to separate the men from the boys with insane questions like "What villain was on the cover of Detective Comics #134?" Heh.

You can get the Batman Prince soundtrack and the tv show theme and have a Battuisi dance off!

You can watch Batman & Robin and MST3K it!

Damn..this all sounds really fun. I might have to get on mine too!

Well, the obvious one, would be a batman cake, which would be simple enough to do really.

Ummm, for food, you could do things basedon each character, so cookies like bat signals etc., for more 'silly' stuff, have dips, but rename them, like bat guano, harvey dent scabs, rename the drinks Smilex, Liquid Fear Toxin etc. etc.
Ma ybe do a scavenger hunt where riddles have to be solved for the next clue
You could do party bags with little t higns in them like a note from the joker and a card, a silver dollar coin scratches on one side etc. etc.

Instead of normal lighting, you could have a batsignal shining onto the ceiling, and cover the walls in a skyline sort of look, y'know, silhouettes of buildings and what not.

You could make virgin cocktails, name them after characters, like a purple or green one could be a joker, a black one, batman, one with two colours, two face

Whew, now those are funny. I'd include a clown theme; half the Batman decorations could be "jokerized." You could also get clear laminate, or other clear material, from an office supply store for framed pics around the house and "jokerize" family photos.

Maybe try to make a working bat signal?

Those are all really good ideas. Thanks alot :D We usually go all out for our yearly Halloween party, so maybe I can get my dad to help me with the more elaborate decoration type stuff.

keep 'em coming you guys.
i work at Build-a-Bear, and we're having a Batman Weekend at my store. all of the employees are gonna dress like batman characters and we're gonna decorate and handout batman stickers and stuff. if anyone's in the Houston/Humble area feel free to stop by Deerbrook Mall on the 19th or 20th

I've been planning a party on the 17th for weeks now. Everyone coming pitched money in for supplies and for their ticket to the midnight release in my town. We have enough tickets for everyone.

We'll all be wearing DC-based costumes. So far we have one ledger Joker (myself btb) the full list of joker goons w/ masks, two harley quinns, one old cartoon look, one thats homemade nolan-style, a wonder woman, a GCPD swat officer, a cat woman, a girl robin, and a two-face.

As far as eats, we had some Batman Cookies made by a local business that does specialty baked goods, and batman cups and such from party store with which to play Bat-Pong. :brucebat:

I opened my costume selection up to all DC Universe characters, since my friends aren't all huge Bat-fans. Made it a little easier for them. But they've known about it for like the past year at least, and most of them haven't even started... which figures.

My best lady friend worked at the theater and made sure to get us a party room (so we don't have to wait in line at the theater) and the $12 ticket-popcorn-icee combo that comes with it, along with two reserved rows in the theater for the midnight show. :3

These girls I know threw a Batman themed halloween party last year. I was the ONLY person to show up as the Joker oddly enough.... and for some reason everyone and their mother was Robin. nancy pants looking Robin, Batman and Robin Robin, Tim Drake Robin... you name it, they were it.

Just make Bat shaped cookies or some other form of baked good and you're in like flynn (or in this case, Harley Quinn).

I know! I don't get all the Robins that always show up.

imho, Robin has always had a dear place in my heart, but he's in the same place with like Tonto and Sylvester the Cat. He's the quintessential sidekick, and with the exception of Dick Greyson in his Nightwing days, basically useless as a superhero. He's worse than Spiderman, and I REALLY HATE Spiderman.

But at my last costume party on Halloween, we had two Robins, a Nightwing (which was this guy who had altered some motorcycle leathers and looked pretty sweet actually) and NOW when i'm planning my TDK release party, we have a female dressing like the boy wonder. I'm dumbfounded.

Girl Robin was adorable though. Force her to wear glasses.

Spider-Man!:cmad:

just kidding.:cwink:

For the party, how about buing cardboard and other stuff like that and try to transform your car into Bat-Mobile! Don't drive it though, I'm not sure if it is legal.:woot:

That's funny, we don't have anyone coming as Robin.

Our line-up right now:
Harley Quinn (me), The Joker (my boyfriend), Zatanna, Two-face, Duela Dent, The (girl) Penguin, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Rorschach, Huntress, Batmanwoman (inside joke, sort of), Nightwing, Deathstroke, Scarecrow, The Flash, Roxy Rocket, Aquaman, possibly an Alfred, and several more that haven't been picked yet. Glad one of my friends is pre-hyping Watchmen, too. And opening it up to DC did not really keep them from mostly picking Bat characters, so that was cool. I'll make sure to take tons of pictures.

I drive a blacked out car already, the only thing on it not black is the chrome Batman insignia on the back. My friends call me Batman actually, so my girlfriend put the sticker on on my last birthday, just left it there, it looks kinda good actually. Point of the story is, I already drive the batmobile.

But I like the idea of figuring out a cardboard cover thing that would make it look like the nolan batmobile. It would be legal as long as you didn't obstruct any of the lights/side mirrors/view of the inside from the outside. Or thats florida law anyways, we're real loose on our auto stuff here.
