BvS Batman Physique Thread

Below is a blown up and brightened up picture of the suit. And below I am critiquing how the physique appears in suit, which means it might more be a discussion of the suit and less of the physique though it difficult to say where one ends and the other begins.

Batman looks bulky and solid, but the muscle definition is not as exaggerated as it was in the Superman suit where you could see veins popping of biceps, abdominals popping out of the suit, etc. It is a very good physical representation overall, very Frank Milleresque.

One observation - is Affleck breathing out for the picture? His chest and waist look to be roughly the same girth but proportion wise that is strange no? Usually the waist would be trimmer and the well developed chest would be sticking way out, like it does with Cavill's suit.

Or maybe its that Affleck is slightly hunching and breathing out.

But interesting representation nonetheless. We gotta see more of what the suit looks like.

This. Also, he's supposed to be older, and you can't keep that svelt look with the size of the muscle mass as you age. Unless of course you're pumping yourself full of juice.

The Batman suit isn't exactly showing "insane big ab muscles", specially compared to Cavill's suit (see below). Muscle definition has been toned down from the Superman suit. Instead the Batman suit is showing great size and bulk. Which looks about right to me. Size wise, we will have to see a comparison picture, but "in-suit", Batman might be bigger than Superman, though Superman will be way more ripped.

Again this is a comparison of the "in-suit appearance" and not the actual physiques of the actors which have yet to be revealed.

I wonder if they are going to claim the muscles in the suit is a replica of Afflecks body. If they do I call lies on that because it would clearly be false, don't see the point in adding all this fake muscles if the actor doesn't look impressive out of costume. Its a case of who are you trying to kid, guess I will wait to see if there are any shirtless scenes.

Yes it's missing the traditional superhero v shape taper, at least in that angle.

However that's most likely deliberate to go with the grizzled older TDKRish batman they're going with. So it's more barrel shaped than v-shaped.

I wonder for affleck's sake if all he really needed to do was similar to Tom Hardy and go on a bulk pretty much, as opposed to too much cutting?

Not a fan of the huge bat-logo but I think, overall, it complements the MoS suit perfectly and should be amazing once they get their "hero shot" next to each other.

I don't have anything against guys who do it. But Affleck is probably on some gear. Given his age it's understandable. You lose strength even if you maintain properly, post 40. But like I said, I ain't knocking him on it. You still have to work hard, with or without gear.

Look at his gut size (no he is not fat) and his slight moon face. They call it HGH gut or Turtle Shell belly. To make a long story short, you retain more water, and some of your organs get "bigger".

I'm not going to accuse affleck but from what i've heard it is somewhat of a dirty secret in hollywood.

He actually looks like he's gained a lot of mass pretty quickly too, compared to the last photos i've seen of him here from a few weeks ago.

I have mixed feelings about that aspect but it is what it is.

I can guarantee you that Affleck isn't on any type of gear. The only stuff he's on is a major caloric surplus along with probably doing some compound weight lifting/movements. That's it.

The suggestion that he's on any kind of anabolic and/or testosterone therapy is quite frankly hilarious. Sure, his suit with the silicon padding modeled on his body which Wilkinson and others decided to exaggerate and accentuate all his muscle bellies to make the suit look more impressive looks like it's on gear but Affleck himself?

A guy his age - it takes a lot more time to gain mass. A man's testosterone declines quite a lot after his mid 20s. Even if he is an elite level mesomorph (the most ideal body type) with insane discipline. Age and testosterone levels catches up to you.

Despite that, you have to work hard as hell, eat a lot and have discipline. So I am not criticizing him, I am offering an explanation for the peculiar face and stomach sizes.

The heck tou talking about? His stomach looks completely normal. If he had a steroid gut, it would be noticable. It's kind of obvious to me atleast that he has trained his arms, but those legs look very scrawny still.

Not that i'm disagreeing with you but what's drawn you to your conclusion? There's nothing obvious about his appearance there to suggest gear i agree but this is where he was in the exact same shirt actually just a few weeks ago:

Just look at the difference in the fit of it.

It is harder to build muscle after 40 so there is that aspect. I'm not saying anything definitive but I can understand both opinions.

Insulin is what truly gives you that guy by the way. HGH can contribute to it but insulin is what bloats the stomach up. None of which I see Affleck exhibiting.

His stomach is still proportionally bigger, despite the padding. Who knows maybe they intentionally did that. Why is gear such a negative thing for a guy his age? It isn't even the slightest for me.
