Batman Begins Heroic Archetypes - Batman Begins

Definitely. I am a Nolan Batman fan, and I am nothing like those creatures that posted those vitriolic comments. I don't taint all of us with the same brush as them. But there is no excuse for their behavior. In the ten years I've been mixed up on the internet superhero fan bases I've never seen that before.

Thank you, that is all I mean.

My heart bleeds for ya.

Maybe if ya stop logging in and out every 5 minutes it might help your head hahaha.

Every 5 minutes? That's an overstatement, lol. Maybe once a hour when I can, but not every 5 minutes, haha.

I'm not trying to make a difference, I'm showing you an analogy which equates to what you're saying. You're labeling them both as bad behavior, but bad behavior comes in different extremes.

You equate death threats the same as simple insults just because it's words. Calling someone a fool, and mocking the death of a loved one are both words, too, but one is far more nasty and extreme than the other.

You can write it off as just words as much as you like, I'm just glad RT or any reputable website doesn't treat such behavior so nonchalantly.

It doesn't matter if they are actually going to kill them or not. You keep trying to excuse this disgusting behavior just because the people who did it are too cowardly to follow through on it.

Totally fine if the website treats death threats accordingly by their standards, but if you ask me, a death threat on a site is just as bad as the next 'troll' saying this or that sucks over and over.

And no, you are missing my point. Nowhere am I giving death threats an excuse, am I? You're missing the point when I am just saying death threats are as bad as the general insulting post or comment, especially when I SAY the threats are bad. No excuses from me whatsoever.

The point is ain't no fan base has ever behaved like that ever over a movie. Ya can't find one example in movie history of it where dozens of fans went and did that. It had to be a heck of a lot of 'em if they shut down Tomatoes comments section. Fact.

Yup that makes any bunch of fans better than them cos none of 'em ever sunk that low.

You know, I had yet to see a group of fans attacking a reviewer after a negative review. Perhaps it's because I don't follow reviews much, but just saying. It works both ways. That negative review being attacked is the first I've seen of this.

"I'm hesitant to watch this review because I may find this guy and kill him if he pisses me off too much"

Made by an Avengers fan after seeing the trailer of a potentially negative Avengers review on YouTube.

Again Anno all I can say is I am very glad the administrations don't write them off as regular every day insults.

That's reassuring to know. I was almost seeing you in a different light there for a minute.

Can you find any instances where hundreds of them behaved this way at once over one review? Where it was so bad the reviewer's website and RT were both closed down temporarily over it?

Take it from moi, you ain't ever gonna find it anywhere except with TDKR. Not the Whedon fans, the Star Wars fans when Lucas made those rotten prequels so many of them hate.

No group of fans ever got together like a bunch of rabid jackals and shut down a website section cos they went ballistic with death threats over one bad review.

I'll save ya the time waiting for an answer and say no. Not gonna happen.

And that is definitely their call. But, imo, the first thing I'd do if I had a website that dealt with critics is make sure no one can comment back. From the "innocent" troll to certain death threats. Just take out the problem from the beginning. I see no reason to have comments regarding reviews either.

That's reassuring to know. I was almost seeing you in a different light there for a minute.

Lol, I don't see how just because I see nothing coming to fruition from death threats.

But as I said, as TDKR was a sequel and with how Avenger fans attacked one negative review....that doesn't bode well to see how negative reviews will be treated with Avengers 2. You make it seem like Whedon fans will all of a sudden become civilized, lol. We clearly see that's not the case with just ONE negative review.

Don't you think that is a really sad state of affairs where you can't have a comments section on reviews simply because fans cannot behave themselves?

I see no reason to have comments regarding reviews either.

It's the same reason why we have message boards. Discussions of opinions. Reviews are the same thing. Fans like and want to discuss and comment on what these professional critics have to say about the movies. After all it's these reviews that make up the scores on places like RT and Metacritic.

We always have a thread on them here for every new movie. Other websites should be no exception.

Lol, I don't see how just because I see nothing coming to fruition from death threats.

It's nothing to do with what comes to fruition, it's the fact that they are the worst kind of behavior. Not on the same level as simple name calling.

If you called someone an idiot, nobody would be giving you any medals for it. But if you threatened to kill someone for it, you'd be seen as the worst kind of fan. And rightfully so.

It's sad, yes, but those kinds of comments are much worse when it comes to single reviews than forums/message boards, so I think it's best to take out comments completely, such as RT.

But with forums/message boards, you have differing opinions from among your peers, not people going after a critic or in some instances, a top critic, such as the differing areas on RT.

And that's fine and your opinion, and while I think death threats are as bad as you can get as well, it's still just a bad comment to make as bad as a 'This [singer] or [actor] should die' kind of comment. They're all in bad taste for sure, but it's just something that you have to deal with in a normal basis. Certain types of people are just hateful.

I don't even get the point of this argument. Some Avengers fans got out of line...some TDKR fans got out of line in an even more extreme way...

QFT.

I can't believe you guys actually hijacked Nave's thread with this pointless debate about which fanbase is worse (TDKR or Avengers), even though both have sections that have shown a propensity for reacting unreasonably to criticism directed at the respective movies.

On-topic, I've been following your articles on the JusticeBulletin, Nave and all I can say is well-done. The amount of thought, detail and patience you've clearly put into this is astounding (and a testament to how these films make you stop and ponder) and I can't wait to see your articles on TDK and TDKR.
