Batman & Son, Assault on Arkham announced

This is definitely not a film for kids.

I liked it. The humor was clever instead of corny. The character interactions came off as authentic instead of just a setup for a corny pun like I've seen so many other times.

One thing I appreciated was the violence seemed to have consequences, instead of just being meaningless filler. If they make a sequel to this, I hope they stay consistent with this and [BLACKOUT]make the Joker actually be dead because no man should be able to survive that fall, let alone the subsequent flames.[/BLACKOUT]

There already are things that come after this in the universe though, where [BLACKOUT]he's alive.[/BLACKOUT]

i watched yesterday
story was meh. but liked that focusing on villians instead of batman so its okay

harley quinn sex scene was hot

I got around to watching it. Was certainly more fun to watch than the last couple of DTVs.

The story was ok. It was mostly the interactions that made it fun. I thought the sex scene was pointless and just put in there because they can do. Plus, I really don't think anyone would really want to hook up with Harley. It was weird how pretty much death is final for everyone, but Joker. Maybe they should've come up with something that seemed more possible to survive.

Interesting that they gave Batman white eyes with pupils this time around. I don't think that's been done in any of their films or toons before. I liked his fighting style.

They're notorious criminals on a team called the Suicide Squad. I think's it's a case of "we'll there's a very real chance that I might die at any moment, and most people wouldn't give a crap, so I'm going to take what I can get when/where I can get it." Plus it's a nod to the New 52 Suicide Squad comics.

Yeah, but it's Harley. She cray cray.

Yeah but it's Harley laying buck naked in your bed. Not many men could turn that down regardless of her insanity.

Saw it yesterday, thought it was pretty bad. Not terrible like JL: War but on the level of Son of Batman.

Snow Queen already said it, but I'll say it again [blackout]He's alive in the game that follows the events of this story immediately[/blackout]

Not even the fact that she's been with Joker is a turn-off?

Joker being up in them guts probably means she's got something contagious.

Haha maybe if she was fully clothed I would be able to reconsider. Hell, Killer Frost probably would have killed me in a similar position too. I have a weakness.

The film was cool, didn't really show much Batman but that was okay cause I like the Suicide Squad. BTW DC should make a live action Suicide Squad movie, I hope thats one of the 9 movies they have planned.

I remember a report from last year that said they were developing Suicide Squad and Deathstroke movies, but I'm not sure the WB's plans have changed since then. "The Dirty Dozen with superpowers" sounds like a really cool premise for a live-action movie.

I thought AOA was fairly decent. Some of the dialogue was a bit too juvenile but the story and characters made it a fun ride overall. Plus, Batman kicked all sorts of ass!

7.5/10

AOA was really...weird. I love the Arkhamverse but at times this film seemed to be all over the place (the whole naked Harley thing seemed kinda odd), and the music sometimes was very annoying. Certainly better than War(never got around to seeing SOB due to negative reception, has DC lost it?)

I enjoyed watching though as it was great getting more stories in the Arkhamverse (and recognizing actors and places from the games...dat Riddler/Penguin), and hope they do something again, just better. Maybe after Arkham Knight?

Remember when we were promised that the sequel to Arkham City would feature the Justice League? Since it looks like that won't be happening in Arkham Knight, maybe it can be done via a movie?

Hahahaha definitely agree with you here man, I was thinking the same thing

Whaaaat? I don't remember hearing this at all (not that I'm doubting you). o_O

In that case, I'm pretty happy they didn't go that direction in Arkham Knight. I think it'd be much more suited for one of these films.

I got the chance to watch Assault on Arkham yesterday.

I didn't know a whole lot going in, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the main focus on the film was the Suicide Squad and not Batman. It was just a refreshing change to see the villains as the focus. When Bats did show up, it was still enjoyable too, almost as the antagonist of the story in a way, because of the focus on the other side. I really liked the dynamic of the team, each of the members were fun to watch. And that ending was just awesome. Bang.

Overall I thought it was a really fun time and quite enjoyed the film.

A decent animated movie.

Though I found the absence of Mark Hamill distracting. I actually thought the new actor did a decent imitation, but it just seems odd when they have so many DCAU / Arkham voice actors reprising the roles but not Hamill.

Not really, Hamill publically retired from the role (although he did say that he'd come back if they ever made a Killing Joke movie).

I don't think anyone ever promised the justice league an the arkham verse after arkham city.
