Batman & Son, Assault on Arkham announced

For a second there I thought Ra's Al Ghul BECAME Deathstroke, which I found oddly unfaithful to the source material.

Also, does anyone else think the title is just meh? Why not something classier, like BATMAN: SINS OF THE FATHER?

It's an animated DTV. Consider yourself lucky the title wasn't "Here's Your Batman, Give Us Your ****ing Money". :o

Saw the trailer on Batman-news.com. Looking forward to it.

I didn't read Batman stuff by Grant Morrison so it will be new to me.

This looks pretty awful. I'll buy it.

Looks cool. Loving Damian's attitude and voice, and any Talia is good Talia to me. :D

I hope this succeeds, as I would love for them to adapt more of Morrison's arc. I could die happy if they did a good adaptation of RIP.

I hope Court of Owls followed by Death of the Family are the next two Batman movies after these.

They'd better not adapt Batman Inc vol. 2. I HATE what Morrison did to Talia and Damian.

Are there any plans to adapt The Long Halloween? I want that one badly.

The Long Halloween is way too long to adapt in just one film. Plus, it is one of those stories that is better read than watched. You have to take your time with it and read it at your own pace, otherwise you'll miss important parts of the mystery. It's really not a good idea to turn it into a movie IMO. Same thing with stories like Knightfall and No Man's Land - they're way too long and don't serve this 60-80 min animated film format.

Court of Owls is fine as long as they do some major changes to the second half. That's where the story goes downhill IMO. I thought the Thomas Wayne Jr. thing was stupid, redundant, and cliche. I was also not a fan of the way the Court of Owls were literally all taken out in like a page. It takes away any credibility and intimidation they had.

Death of the Family can work.

I would love to see Morrison's whole run get adapted, but it sadly won't be. You can already tell from the trailer that they've already done some major changes to the story. It was pretty predictable to begin with. Batman & Son serves more as a setup for the later events in Morrison's run. They probably didn't want to adapt the whole run so they changed things up. :argh:

Long Halloween needs to be in two parts just like TDKR for it to work.

I would be or them adapting Court of the Owls, but not Death of the Family. To begin with, a lot of it is a rehash of The Clown at Midnight, and the dramatic reveal was not that good. To be fair, the first issue is excellent; the bit where the Joker locates Gordon's stash is chilling. Rumor had it that Snyder was forced to do the event, and if that is true, I do not blame him. It's not a horrible comic, but it's a step down from Owls, which is flawless.

As for Long Halloween, I would have no problem with it if they rewrote the villains' ialogue. Loeb's pen chance for giving them verbal tics undercuts the great character and plot work.

Which is a damn shame, since his BATMAN & ROBIN work is stellar.

I thought Death of the Family was an improvement over the second half of Court of the Owls. I didn't think it was a Clown at Midnight rehash, but one may also argue that Court of Owls is a Batman RIP rehash going by the same logic.

It was like RIP but without the crazy over the top Silver Age inspired stuff.

Didn't you guys already learn that you can't adopt the Long Halloween without paying for Paramount the Godfather rights to use?

Unless they of course make an actual good story out of that crapfest.
