Batman & Son, Assault on Arkham announced

Really looking forward to Son of Batman! I'm surprised I always look forward to these releases despite having somewhat of Batman fatigue due to the live-action films and ridiculous popularity of the character but in the end these are so good I don't care.

Extremely looking forward to this! Love the image of the Bat Family. Although hoping we get Tim Drake as well in the film.

I am looking forward to the film. The screenshot above looks great.

Is this set in the same universe as JL War?

Who knows? The comic continuity is a joke, and I imagine the films that try to adapt are going to have a distorted one, as well.

Yes, this and War are in the same continuity.

James Tucker said that we'll get two in continuity tales a year and one ''offshoot'' movie. The offshoot this year clearly being Batman: Assault on Arkham.

I'm hoping Conroy returns for Assault... but I think O'Mara will be back again.

EDIT: Here's the Tucker video... @6:00

If Arkham won't be in continuity with the other two, it doesn't make sense to use O'Mara.

Very true... but then I read this:

Discussing his new role as the voice of Batman, O’Mara said it was a “thrill and an honor,” and never expected to get the call. O’Mara said he grew up with Batman and felt very pressured, and especially concerned, about the fan reaction to his performance. O’Mara said he was worried fans would say “bring back Kevin Conroy,” and joked that Conroy choked him when they first met. O’Mara said his turn as Batman is just one version, the New 52 version, of the multifaceted franchise.

Oliva confirmed that footage from the forthcoming Batman: Assault on Arkham animated movie, based in the “Arkham” videogame universe, is coming back from overseas animation studios and it looks “badass.” Miereanu noted O’Mara is excited for fans to see Batman: Assault on Arkham.

I hope Court of Owls followed by Death of the Family are the next two Batman movies after these.

"Son of Batman" is based on a comic arc that pre dates the New 52, even though the movie is rumored to be a continuity of "Justice League: War". DC has a lot of great comic arcs that pre dates the new 52, and DCU can promote those comic arcs, either if it's a continuity or a stand alone. I just hope they don't only do New 52 comic arcs. I want to see kingdom Come, and Infinite Crisis get animated.

Interesting that they're using the Young Justice Nightwing costume or at least a really similar design.

Is Tim Drake going to be in this? He was a big part of the original arc.

Just realised that Deathstroke is being voiced by Thomas Gibson from Dharma and Greg.

Gregstroke!

Who caressss about continuity. The film itself will tell you all you need to know.

If Arkham won't be in continuity with the other two, it doesn't make sense to use O'Mara.

Didn't Conroy do the voice for like a dozen continuities?

Yeah, but he's ****ing Conroy, he can do anything he wants. He's earned it.

Officially announced two weeks ago, a special sneak peek at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's upcoming DC animated film Son of Batman has made its way online. Check it out in the player below!

Based on the comic by Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert, Son of Batman features Jason O'Mara as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne, Stuart Allan as Damian, Morena Baccarin as Talia Al Ghul Giancarlo Esposito as Ra's Al Ghul, David McCallum as Alfred Pennyworth, Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom (aka Man-Bat), and Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke.

Yeah, Grayson and Damian become really close in the comics, so it makes more sense to use him here than Tim, who BARELY tolerates Damian and vice versa.

I wonder if James Tucker is sick... in the preview video for Justice League: War, he had a full head of hair and a beard, but in this preview he was completely bald and looked a bit worn. If he is, I wish him well.

Anyway, movie looks good.

I hated O'Mara at first based on that Green Lantern/Batman meeting clip from JL: War, but he seriously grew on me by the end of War. He sounds AMAZING in what I've seen from Son of Batman. I really think he's improved from War to Son of Batman. Based on what I've heard, he's on the same level as Greenwood. O'Mara and Greenwood are Conroy's only worthy successors

I don't care for them subbing out Tim for Dick. Yes, Dick as the original Robin, has more name recognition. But anyone wasting money on these movies is well aware that Bruce has had several Robin's over the years.

Tim and Damian being at odds makes more since than Dick and Damian. But it is what it is. I'm a big Nightwing fan, so I don't think I'll mind so much. I'd just like to see Tim finally get his debut in a DCAU film.
