Batman: The Telltale Series

Umm just cause he's not in the trailer doesn't mean he might not appear in the game. Why do people jump to conclusions like this all the time?
it's cause to too many people it's look like a year one/The Long Halloween era type of game ,slightly prior to some things happening.

Even though to the gamer news outlets this was stated those to repeat so people don't think this.

EP Daily Rundown for July 19, 2016

The story itself isn’t based on any existing Batman comic or film. Instead it tells an original tale that begins near the start of Batman’s war on crime, and explores the duality of his psyche. Telltale is introducing a new investigation mechanic, so players will get to explore the detective side of Batman. The first episode will be available to download on August 2, with all five slated to arrive before the end of the year.

so if some if do feel that way still still based on his year period ,,,,,, it more of an inspired thing, I guess. but so far the publishers is saying making gamer news outlet state that this is it's own thing .

we'll see if lucius shows up. I'm sure he's there.

I'm assuming most of that trailer is taken from the first episode. I'd be very surprised if Lucius didn't show up, especially with the emphasis on Bruce out of costume.

some has to run the company and over see it's sub division since bruce is devote to his time as the bat and it's hard to do both cause bruce will need to get some sort of sleep. can't say he's human if he not doing that. that why you have people work for ya. and if he's just the owner it works out well. in that sense. can't always do every thing.

Ign did a rewind theatre and said all of the footage pretty much takes place 30 mins into ep.1

I'm surprised that I'm more excited to play as Bruce Wayne then Batman.

Usually, Bruce Wayne gets the short end of the stick when it comes to the narrative in most stories. So, having one where we spend time as him outside of the suit...does sound interesting in and of itself.

I tend to find that the more time is spent with Bruce Wayne as opposed to Batman in a story corresponds to a rise in the noir-factor. Mask of the Phantasm, Dark Knight Rises, Arkham Origin, they all feature far more Bruce Wayne sequences than their predecessors, and so you get more human elements in the story.

I'm definitely interested to play this, but I haven't played/finished the last few Telltale games, like Walking Dead Season 2 or Tales of the Borderlands.

This is also the first time I'm interested in a Telltale game that is only in its first episode, with no official dates for the next episodes, so I don't know if I should just jump into it now, or wait for the entire season to be released.

Well I hope you guys enjoy the game tomorrow. I have to wait till I get the season pass disc in September. I got it preordered already so I'm excited.

The combat - the way it's handled - really makes you feel like you're a master of terrifying, cunning strategy, exactly how Batman should be played.

I decided to pre-order after all. The fact that you can get this and Wolf Among Us, a combined $50 value, for just $23 makes this a good deal to me.

Reveiws are starting to come out remember this is a Tell tale game son don't expect too much in the way of action. I'll put up some later

oh and the video inthis article is the same one slick put up. I only put this up cause of the written parts.

This was excellent. Really compelling Bat story and cant wait for the future episodes, will end up getting all of them I can see. Really like the way the combat is done and you even multiple choices in that as well. The odd bit of stiff animation aside and the visuals really work well for this.

I loved the first episode. I mean the gameplay(if you can even call it that)sucks as in all TellTale games, but everything else for the most part is just top notch. Great voice work, great designs and the story is off to a fantastic start.

As long as one goes into this understanding they are getting one long cutscene with QTE's, I say it's a must for Batman fans.

Yeah you have to realise what your getting into before buying this, no-one should expect Arkham style fight mechanics but its all about the decision making and branching story. Telltale games live and die by their story and thankfully it was a pretty good opening with some nice twists along the way and decent character work.

However I liked how they handled the detective mechanics and combat. Simple as they are they make Batman feel like a BA at least. The final chapter was really well done I thought. Interesting to see what they come up with in the other episodes.

Oh yea I mean I'm sold on this series and this is coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy their style of games. Batmans interrogation of the one thug was one of my fav Bat moments I can recall. I truly did enjoy the first episode and can't wait for the rest. I just hope they're consistent with the releases unlike how they were with TWD.

Yeah I just played the first 10 minutes, and while I like it so far, it reminded me of what I dislike about TT games, which is that they are really boring at times unless you know what to expect.

Yea they truly are just interactive cutscenes.

I always found it amusing how everyone complains about QTE's yet TellTale makes games that are essentially just one giant QTE event and no one seems to mind.

I just played the prologue and Im liking it so far. The graphics seem better here than in past games. Really digging that art direction

Hate the voice on Batman. Troy is fine as Bruce but his Batman is terrible. It doesnt work for me

Combat has always been the weakest part of TT's games and its no different here. I guess they have to have it considering the source material but I really didnt like playing as Batman bc of it. Its especially odd coming off Arkham and having to deal with something so slow that holds your hand. I would fail the button prompts and it didnt seem to affect the outcome at all.

I hear that there's more Bruce segments in this which is a good thing. Im sure I'll enjoy those a whole lot more.

the best parts of their games are the dialogue options and the reactions to what you choose. You know, affecting the story that way. The actual "gameplay" part of their games is a chore at times.
