Batman: The Telltale Series

For example, I chose not to give information to Vicky Vale. Then in the next Episode, I have the option "She owes me one.", went on it, then Bruce mentions that he gave Vicki Vale the name of the Officer, even though I did no such thing.

And some of the other stuff, might have turned out to be just poor writing, like when Alfred mentioned I beat a man half to death, even though all I did was break his arm. Apparently he always says that, according to somebody who tried all options. If you actually beat the Mercenary half to death, then Alfred will change his line to "You nearly killed a man tonight."

Plus, it's buggy as hell. The flashback scene in the alley was completely ruined for me, because the shadow jumped all over the place, blocking out most of the scenes, during the entire segment.

Oh right. Those things would bug me too and it's surprising that they would happen in 2017 now that Telltale are absolute veterans of this type of game. Even the first Walking Dead was so good for making choices matter that it's surprising that little things like this that could be avoided with due care are still present.

I remember experiencing all those bugs as well. I still played through it and thought it was a great story, but the bugginess definitely made the experience less enjoyable. Thankfully, Season 2 is MUCH smoother and the choices are actually consistent. I would really recommend Season 2.

Are you also playing on PS4? I know Telltale games can be buggy, but I seem to always see Playstation players having much bigger issues with the game, compared to the PC and Xbox players. Reminds me of Bethesda games, as well.

I played S1 on Xbox, and I didn't see any of those bugs that Nathan mentioned. I did see some things, but nothing that bad.

Oh, and Episode 4 is dropping on the 23rd. I wonder if I should start playing now?

I've played S1 and S2 on my PS4 with zero bugs/issues.

And yes, you should definitely get started on S2 now if you can.

New trailer is up. Hope it's as good as episode two of the same season.

Alright, I may start this tonight. I've had this game since Black Friday(I bought it on sale), so I think it'll be good to start now, play through ep4, and then only wait another 6-8 weeks for the last.

Just finished playing Episode 4. Man, I am really digging Anthony Ingruber's portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime. Overall, had a blast going through this one and making interesting choices.

Just finished episode four and I’m really digging the Batman/Joker relationship I’m this particular continuity. It really paved the way for what’s going to be an intense conclusion for this season.

Although, I feel like [BLACKOUT]Alfred isn’t going to make it considering the scenes in the manor that hint towards his health.[/BLACKOUT] :csad:

All in all, I honestly can’t wait for the final episode!

Burned through Episode 4 last night and enjoyed it. The finale should be awesome.

Regarding John/Joker, [BLACKOUT]I didn't really feel it was necessary for him to know that Bruce is Batman right from the get-go.[/BLACKOUT]

Do any mods/posters care that this guy spams us with his YouTube channel in every post he makes, in this subforum and elsewhere?

The final episode will arrive March 27. Here's an article with screenshots and info.

Apparently, this will be a pretty ambitious project for Telltale, with one of the "brachiest" episodes they've ever done with two different storylines depending on what you chose to do with John Doe at the end of episode four, and will lead to two different endings.

I'll download and play the series then. Or maybe I'll do it soon in anticipation of the final one

I started playing about a week ago. I played the first 3 episodes, and onto the 4th. Perfect timing for the 5th.

Didn't even know the 4th episode was out already

Ugh...I hate how spread out the episode releases are

Wow this wrapped up nearly 3 months ago and ZERO comments?

I dont have much to add except I finished it a couple of weeks ago. Overall disappointed. I didnt like it as much as the first. Spent way too much time as Bruce undercover and hated this rendition of Harley. The story dragged and wasnt that interesting to me. I think Im burnt out on Telltale. Dropped Minecraft midway and havent touched Guardians yet but even that I hear wasnt good

I agree, it wasn’t as good as S1, and I also agree about the Bruce playtime and Harley.

Still not a bad season, just not nearly as good as the first.

Which version of Joker did you guys get for the final episode? I got villain Joker but also saw Vigilante Joker watching a friend play through it. I wish there was a way to face villain Joker as Batman. I do agree that there was too much time spent as Bruce and not enough as Batman, still really loved it overall though, very curious to see how season 3 will be handled given the different endings to this season.

I got villlian. I didnt realize vigilante was a possibility until after I finished.

Nice to hear that it will still come to the Switch, shame that we'll never get a season 3, or any of the other projects Telltale had in the works.

Telltale Games Is Being Revived as a New Company With the Rights to The Wolf Among Us and Batman - IGN

As reported by Polygon, this new Telltale Games is being run by Jamie Ottilie and Brian Waddle. Ottilie was the founder and CEO of Galaxy Pest Control, which worked with such licensed properties as Duck Dynasty and Power Rangers, while Waddle had previously ran sales and marketing for the Havok game engine.

Ottilie confirmed that "some workers from the original Telltale Games will be offered freelance roles, with full-time positions possible in the future."

In addition to The Wolf Among Us, which was scheduled to get a sequel, and Batman, the new Telltale also has full rights to original Telltale games like Puzzle Agent. In addition, Ottilie confirmed that "there are some other expired licenses that we’re looking at."

While Ottilie said that "it's possible the new Telltale will pick up some stories where they left off," they are still evaluating how they will handle each property going forward.

There was no mention of the status of other previous Telltalle Games properties like Borderlands, Game of Thrones, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Minecraft. However, The Walking Dead license is now owned by Skybound and Stranger Thing's rights have reverted back to Netflix, so those most likely won't be making a return through Telltale Games.

“This is a viable business that went away due to market conditions and some scale choices [Telltale’s previous management] made,” Ottilie said. “I like games that tell stories and I think our industry should have a company that specializes in narrative-driven games.”

Negotiations for this deal began six months ago, although no purchase price has been announced. It is known that publisher Athlon Games is a partner in the deal and will "handle storefront operations and distribution."

That's very exciting. Hopefully the new owners manage the company better than the previous ones did.
