BATMAN VS. SPIDERMAN
Why do people like Spiderman? Well, no one really knows why. But what’s easier to say is why people like Batman. This superhero is loved by millions of fans around the world. But to be reasonable, there are also millions of devoted fans of Spiderman as well. Batman is by far better than “Spiderman” because he is smarter, has a better costume, and has better resources.

First of all, Batman is better than Spiderman because he’s smarter. Batman’s alter-ego “Bruce Wayne” is a wealthy business man who owns a multi-million dollar corporation and a some odd 20 plus bedroom mansion. Also, he invents every single gadget he uses in combat. Spiderman’s alter-ego “Peter Parker” is nothing more than a college student or a high school teacher or whatever you want to think. This clearly shows that Bruce Wayne has not only years of experience under his belt, but the intelligence to handle way more responsibility that Peter Parker. Also, Peter Parker still lives with his Aunt.

Second of all, Batman is better than Spiderman because his costume is better. Batman’s costume is not only black with a cape and his signature Batman symbol on his chest, but it actually has alternations to it that help him in the line of duty. For example, his costume is fire-proof, bullet-proof, and fits quite well in the washer machine. Also, he has a cape that allows him to fly (Along with a reinforced grappling gun), Sharpened wrist blades and killer boots. Spiderman’s on the other hand is nothing more than blue and red tights with a spider in the middle. Nothing special about it, which makes it easy to shoot, stab, burn, crush, slap, staple, and back into with your car.

Third of all, Batman is better than Spiderman because he has better resources. If Batman were to break or lose a gadget, he has enough money to replace it in one business day. Also, he has a trusty sidekick (Robin), and his Butler (Alfred) to help him with anything he needs, Because a real man with experience can proudly admit that assistants is what can save you in battle. Peter Parker has very little money working as a photographer. If anything were to happen to his costume or anything else, what would he do? Take his costume to his aunt to sew it up and kiss his boo-boos away?!

In Conclusion, Batman is better than “Spiderman” because he’s more intelligent, has an enhanced wardrobe, and has better assistance. With years of training, education, and experience well over Spider ***, Batman easily takes him. Also, Batman’s Alter-ego Bruce Wayne has the same advantages over Peter Parker. Now we know who would really win the battle… :batman:

I would say Batman is better than Spiderman because he is a much more complex and fascinating characters. It's easier to write a great Batman story than a great Spiderman story, because the character and its world are so rich. Plus, Batman has by far the best rogues gallery in comics. And it's costume actually has a purpose.

Why do people like Spiderman? Well, no one really knows why.

If I was your teacher, you'd instantly have lost marks with this absurd opening statement.

But what’s easier to say is why people like Batman.

No it isn't.

Batman is by far better than “Spiderman” because he is smarter, has a better costume, and has better resources.

How is he smarter?? Why is his costume better?? And Batman needs his resources because he hasn't got super powers. Spider-Man, like Superman, doesn't need the bazillion gadgets and toys and vehicles that Batman uses.

This is not a knock on Batman, it's just a simple fact.

First of all, Batman is better than Spiderman because he’s smarter.

You've already said this. Prove to me why this is the case. How is he smarter?? Has he split the atom again or something?? What makes him more intelligent??

Batman’s alter-ego “Bruce Wayne” is a wealthy business man who owns a multi-million dollar corporation and a some odd 20 plus bedroom mansion.

Which he inherited from his parents.

Also, he invents every single gadget he uses in combat.

Spider-Man invented his web shooters and spider tracers.

Spiderman’s alter-ego “Peter Parker” is nothing more than a college student or a high school teacher or whatever you want to think.

Exactly. And look at all he's achieved for such an average guy with an average life. All without the aid of money and unlimited resources.

This clearly shows that Bruce Wayne has not only years of experience under his belt, but the intelligence to handle way more responsibility that Peter Parker.

Doesn't Alfred keep the mansion in order, and Lucius Fox practically run Wayne Enterprises??

Also, Peter Parker still lives with his Aunt.

No he doesn't. He lives with his smoking hot super model wife.

Second of all, Batman is better than Spiderman because his costume is better. Batman’s costume is not only black with a cape and his signature Batman symbol on his chest, but it actually has alternations to it that help him in the line of duty. For example, his costume is fire-proof, bullet-proof

Spider-Man doesn't need a cape, or bullet proof or fireproof material.

and fits quite well in the washer machine.

LMFAO!

So does Spider-Man's

Also, he has a cape that allows him to fly (Along with a reinforced grappling gun), Sharpened wrist blades and killer boots.

Spider-Man has his web shooters and his amazing spider like agility.

Spiderman’s on the other hand is nothing more than blue and red tights with a spider in the middle. Nothing special about it, which makes it easy to shoot, stab, burn, crush, slap, staple, and back into with your car

You think it's easy to shoot, stab, burn, crush, slap, staple,or back your car into a guy with super human speed and agility, and a spider sense that warns him of any impending danger??

Third of all, Batman is better than Spiderman because he has better resources. If Batman were to break or lose a gadget, he has enough money to replace it in one business day.

Spider-Man doesn't need half the gadgets Batman uses.

Also, he has a trusty sidekick (Robin)

Spider-Man is good enough that he needs no partner.

and his Butler (Alfred) to help him with anything he needs, Because a real man with experience can proudly admit that assistants is what can save you in battle.

A real man??

Peter Parker has very little money working as a photographer. If anything were to happen to his costume or anything else, what would he do? Take his costume to his aunt to sew it up and kiss his boo-boos away?!

No, he can repair it himself, as he has done many times.

In Conclusion, Batman is better than “Spiderman” because he’s more intelligent

No he's not.

has an enhanced wardrobe

By that you mean more toys, which Spider-Man does not need.

and has better assistance

Spidey needs no assistance on a regular basis.

With years of training, education, and experience well over Spider ***

Spider ***?? Ok, you are obviously a brainless troll, and I hope you get banned for that remark.

Any gay bashing remarks are a major no no here.

Batman easily takes him.

How?? You've yet to prove this.

Also, Batman’s Alter-ego Bruce Wayne has the same advantages over Peter Parker.

Oh he may have lots of money, but Spider-Man has achieved just as much , if not more, and beaten enemies far more powerful than Batman's. And he's done it all by himself, without the need for partners, millions of dollars, and a regiment of fancy toys.

Now we know who would really win the battle

Do we?? Have we seen them fight eachother??

I hope your teacher gave you a big fat F for this childishly, offensively written piece of rubbish.

I usually never take part in these ridiculous versus threads, but this one is the most ridiculous one I've seen, and the fact you actually handed this in as a school assignment is laughable.

And Batman and Spidey are my two fav heros.

I'm pretty sure using the term "Spider ***" bumps you down a grade or two.

Or at least that's how it was when I went to High School back in the '70s.

I was under the impression that Batman invented very few of his gadgets. The origional batmobile was an urban assault vehicle that he took from the Waynetech military armaments department shortly after shutting it down. All subsiquent vehicles were built by Harold and later Toyman II. His flashbangs and other gas bombs/explosives could be easily purchased, and are most likely purchased. The only weapons I know he makes himself are the batarangs, and all that requires is a good knowledge of airodynamics and someplace to cut metal.

i dont see why you had to take apart his WHOLE essay and make a big deal about it. That shows us that you have no life and too much time on your hands to do what you did. Anyways besides my point.... Batman will forever kick spider-mans @$$. :batman: :spidey: :down

Translation: Why did you have to tear apart my shallow, weak essay and expose it for what it is? Best I can do now is throw some petty insults at you to make myself look better.

You went to the trouble of making a thread to show off your little essay. I suppose you were expecting a string of one line responses saying "That rocks. You are so right. Spidey is totally teh gay"

I swear people who make these versus threads feel threatened somehow by the greatness of the hero they're trying to bash.

Anyways besides my point.... Batman will forever kick spider-mans @$$. :batman: :spidey: :down

Yeah, yeah run along now. Nobody is impressed with your childishness.

Yes, it is an essay but not mine. It's my friends. But he didnt post it becasue he wanted to show off his essay, he posted it because he wanted to proove his point that batman is better than spiderman. only reason he said it was an essay cuz another friend of ours posted his essay saying spidermna is better than batman on the spider man topic and people bashed him about it being an essay. so he wanted to let u all know it was an essay

BaTmAnkIcKs@$$ said:

He failed.

only reason he said it was an essay cuz another friend of ours posted his essay saying spidermna is better than batman on the spider man topic and people bashed him about it being an essay.

Yeah, I wonder was he bashed because it was an essay, or because of his poor and vulgar choice of wording, and lack of reasoning.

this is actually a well thought out and well executed essay that proves without a shadow of a doubt that The Batman is better than Spider ***.

you expect all of us including me to use "proper" choice in words. we're jus trying to make it short and simple. all of you "geeks" on here posting all these long and stupid replies have way to time and thouht into all of this. you tell us how he failed. to me i think there is no failure at this. everyone has their own opinion about who is better in what ways. he stated why batman was better in his own way. are other friend stated spider-man was better in his own way. i've plenty of topics about batman vs. spider-man and i've seen other people state why batman or spider-man are better in their own ways.

Yeah an my daddy can beat up your daddy. Grow up.

Batman is my favorite character. That said, I'm a big Spidey fan.Why does there have to be a "better"?Why can't each character be appreciated for the Icon of American culture that they are.

It's this juvenile mentality that brings these boards down.

Hm...

Spidey is way cooler.

Oh, and, for the record.......it is spelt Spider-Man NOT Spiderman.

ANOTHER reason why Spidey's cooler. He has a HYPHON!

REMEMBER!!!!!!!!

If you're going to criticize Spider-Man, you had damn well better know what you're talking about. Clearly, you don't.
I mean, I've always thought Spider-Man was overrated, but I'm not going to make an idiot of myself on the internet to try to prove a point.

I expect anyone with half a brain to use proper grammar yes.

we're jus trying to make it short and simple.

It's definitely simple, I'll give you that.

all of you "geeks" on here posting all these long and stupid replies have way to time and thouht into all of this.

Open your eyes and look where you are. You're on a SUPERHERO website. This is a place for people to discuss all things related to superheros. Therefore the people you'll find here are major superhero fans.

Of course they're going to have alot to say. And it took me all of 5 minutes to type out that reply btw. It's not rocket science your 'friend' posted. Just a silly "essay".

you tell us how he failed. to me i think there is no failure at this.

He failed alright. Just look at his opening line: "Why do people like Spiderman? Well, no one really knows why".

LMAO! Instant indication of how bad this essay was going to be.

everyone has their own opinion about who is better in what ways.

This wasn't an opinion, he stated it as a fact. An essay why Batman is better. Not an essay why he thinks he's better.

And he did it in the most childish manner. Spider ***?? What is he 10 years old??

I love that he mentions that Bruce Wayne invents all of the gadgets he uses in combat, then conveniently leaves out that Peter Parker invented his webshooters and web fluid at age 16. :D

EDIT: I'm curious as to what grade this poster is in - that wouldn't pass muster in any high school class I ever attended.

i love how bruce doesnt invent every single gadget he uses

i love batman but this essay is ridiculous

why are you worried about what grade he is in? it doesnt matter what grade he is in. and why are you SO worried about our grammar on here. its just a forums page. its not like this is for school or anything. maybe we dont want to type out the whole word. oh and btw, this is an opinion essay buddy. it's his own opinion why batman is better than spider-man.

If it's his (or.. your) opinion, then it shouldn't be displayed as facts. And while his opinion that Batman is better than Spider-Man might be his, the other things he states are absolutely wrong and show that he has no knowledge about either character.

So...how's the band you've been trying to start up going? In your basement/room/laundry room. I'm just asking, Also how do you operate in reality?

It matters because I want to know what they're teaching in school these days. That essay is an F even in rudimentary high school classes.
It says a lot about the state of our education when a kid can turn in something like that and earn points.

Good grammar is essential if you want to be taken seriously.

In most essays it is prudent to state your opinion as fact; it makes your position firm and clear.
Still, the guy's an idiot. :down

There's a lot of misinformation in that essay.

The first line is already wrong. Why do people like Spider-Man? Um, I think that's a lot easier of an answer as to why people like Batman.

Nor is it a well kept secret why people like Spider-Man.

This is weird for me because I really like both characters equally, and can identify heavily with their situations. I lost my father at the age of 13, which really makes it identifiable with Peter Parker, losing his father figure at the age of 15/16.

Peter is no slouch as a scientist. He created his own webshooters and web-fluid. Also he has helped in the creation of many serums to cure his villains, like The Lizard, and help his sick Aunt May when she was infected with a virus, due to Spidey's radioactive blood. I dare you to read that Spider-Man story and then tell me Bruce Wayne is smarter than Peter. And this is when he was still relatively early in his career as Spider-Man.

As I said in the thread in the Spidey forum. They're basically apples and oranges. Peter is smart in the scientific field. Batman may not be a hardcore scientist but the guy has amazing deductive reasoning skills and a high intelligence.

Spider-Man is more light hearted. He cracks jokes and tries to keep his villains off their toes with it. Batman is more dark, silent and to the point. Well, the more CURRENT incarnation of Batman is like that. Some versions of Batman are pretty out there from left field, heh.

In an actual fight, depending on circumstances I think Spider-Man would probably defeat him at first, but Batman isn't going to go down without some kind of fight. Batman has the ability to take down Superman. Heck, Batman has taken out an Amazo robot before. He's got skills and could DEFINITELY give it to Spidey. But they are just two very different superheroes but do share the same views on their villains, and they also have kick ass rogues gallery.

If anything they'd make a great team up if you ask me. :spidey: :batman:

Wow. If this type of writing is passable for even a freshmen English class, then we sure have a dark future in store for us.

I like Batman, but I also like Spider-Man. Something I find with Spider-Man is that he is easier to identify with, because he is the everyman. He's what average joe would be like if he became a superhero. Batman being rich is harder to identify with, but the problems Peter Parker runs into sometimes are.

Also, if I turned in this my sophomore year of high school it would have been torn apart. That guy really wanted to make sure we were ready for college.

Batman had a hyphon too originally. He also had a "the". Only really important people get "the" in their name, like kings and serial rapists.
