Well, Batman temporarily takes down normal thugs by breaking bones. ;)

I agree, though. As I said, J'onn's especially was pretty damn harsh. The only justification I can think of for that is that he knew J'onn well enough to know he's tough enough to take it.

Batman's Babel solution for Wonder Woman really was all kinds of stupid. So...she'll just keep fighting and then...uh, she'll fight and...wait...what?...huh?

It was almost as stupid as the way that alien machine guy tried to exploid her weakness in that recent JLA Classified storyline. "If you have no solid ground to fight on, you'll surely lose!" But...doesn't she fly?? It just goes to show, almost no one has been able to get Wonder Woman right in JLA stories.

plus there's what LadyVader mentioned before... one of Wonder Woman's abilities is that she can see through illusions, halucinations, etc. ...it shouldn't have worked at all.

I thought that could only be applied to other people and things that she roped up with the lasso. She's been fooled by magic before, after all. Or are you talking about if Batman tried to repeat that plan now that she's got Athena's eyes?

no, that ability is apart from the lasso, which is why Dr. Psycho doesn't attack her directly, he really can't.

powerful magic is one thing... a little electronic bug in your ear is another

But how could he know J'onn would survive? Or Arthur after becoming afraid of water. Or maybe freezing and shattering Plastic Man.

Because he's seen J'onn get burned and weakened but come out all right. He's seen Arthur go prolonged periods without water. He knows his teammates like the back of his hand.

To be fair, her immunity against illusions was a fairly recent addition to her arsenal as of the last four or five years. When she first fought Dr. Psycho post-Crisis, for example, she got hoodwinked just like everyone else. I remember she had to use her lasso on herself, and even that didn't work immediately.

I was never too bothered by the Bat's contigency plans. Heck, J'Onn had them back in the day as well.

The immunity to illusions is very recent. She got it when she got Athena's eyes.

Actually, she got it a little before, more or less around the start of Rucka's run. She fought Dr. Psycho during the Stoned storyline and his illusions had no effect on her.
