Battle of the Comic Book Films Tournament(2020 Edition)

Yeah I'm definitely down for another round of this Tournament even if its just the runner ups, because we still got a great selection of quality comic-book films to choose from.

Also want to say congrats to The Dark Knight which I voted for. And still agree that it’s the best CBM of all time personally.

I have to say I find it weird but interesting that The Avengers won The Dark Knight in the previous tournament and now it barely got any votes against it. And while I did expect it to lose, I thought it would be much closer.

*Trump voice* It was rigged! :o

Darn, I missed the Final Round! Probably would have voted TDK anyway, though. I agree mostly with the Final Three, though I think several MCU films are better than The Avengers. I get why it wound up here in the final battle, though. Very few CBMs can come close to its impact - on the genre, the industry and the culture.

And yeah, I'd totally vote in a Runner-Up round.

Logan. IMO, The Avengers is primarily great for what it accomplished. Don't get me wrong, I love it, I think it's peak popcorn entertainment. But it doesn't hold up as well against films outside the genre like Logan or TDK do. Jackman, Stewart and Keen deliver brilliant performances, the production design is exquisite, it's bleakly beautiful. And its moved me emotionally more than any other Comic Book Movie (And most movies in general).

Also, shameless plug here, y'all should totally head over to my Christmas Movie Tournament and vote there, too.

THE AVENGERS

Superheroes in New York? Could they be advertising something?

Avengers was a gamechanger and was one of my most fun/exciting moving going experiences.

Logan was one of the best X-men movies, very refreshing and a great action film but the third act can't compare to last 45 minutes of Avengers which was one of the best third acts of any superhero movie, if not the best.

So yeah, TA all day.

I agree with pretty much all of that.
Logan is a mature and moving deconstruction of a super hero in his twilight.

Avengers is a big, mostly fun popcorn movie with a spectacular ending - the likes of which hadn't been seen since Return of the Jedi.

Logan gets my vote, but I give Avengers its props.
