I'm so ready. Wonder if the WWI rumors will turn out true.

World War I? That would be interesting. I can't imagine they'd go there, though, but maybe.

It would be really different and WWI is a super underrepresented time not just in games, but in media in general.

I hope it's true, but I wouldn't put money on it. There have been a lot of rumors.

I think it's underrepresented due to the limiting nature of the war. About 85% of it was in trenches, and the weaponry itself was very limited compared to WWII, where weapon technology started to become more similar to what we think of today. It would be interesting to see someone tackle that on a large scale. I, personally, have no interest it or anything, but it would be interesting. Be a nice alternative for those who are tired of modern and futuristic settings, too, I suppose.

I understand that, but a game (a multiplayer game no less), doesn't have to be historically accurate.

True, but I don't know what the point of a doing a game like BF would be like if there wasn't some striving for accuracy. You might as just do WWII, you know. Unless they want to play around with some alt history stuff, but that doesn't seem very BF like. Outside 2042, they've played it pretty straight with the time periods they've tackled and all.

Would definitely be very different and interesting but eh I wouldn't be upset if it was just more modern stuff.

I wouldn't mind a made up World War 3 in the present time.

Like others, I'm not sure how WWI would work in a "Battlefield" setting. As Tron pointed out the instant to instant fighting in WWI was quite different from what we think of today, but I'm sure the devs know that better than anyone. If they decide to go that route I'm sure they know what they're doing.

And no prequel stuff.

Stick to the modern setting! :argh:

I am curious how it'd be, being stuck in trenches with other players and shooting at other teams and watching out for chemical weapons or walking around in a group formation

I hope it's Bad Company. And that it has a good single player campaign. If it doesn't have a single player campaign I won't even bother.

That would look great in colored hd graphics!

I never played Bad Company, but the single player campaigns in mainline BF games are beyond awful.

I will be immensely more interested in a WW1 Battlefield game than another futuristic CoD.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had a rather enjoyable campaign thanks to its colorful cast of characters. I didn't hate BF3 and 4's campaigns, I mean, they are unimaginative and don't hold a candle to CoD campaigns, but I don't think I'd call them beyond awful.

U are playing BF for the wrong reasons. BF has never had a good campaign nor should they waste any time focusing on SP.
