Battlefield: Hardline

This game sucked, I played the beta for about 3 hours and then got bored. I'm still waiting for DICE to fix the issues with BF4 and for the last expansion.

What's wrong with BF4?
I haven't had any issues since at least March.

With that said, I think I've put int about 200 hours in BF4 and played Hardline for about 25 minutes. Just didn't care for it.

I've had issues with the "Death Shield" bug and "One-hit kill" bug and "Players sometimes get stuck in revive screen."

I love the game, I play it everyday but those are some things I hope they fix.

Interesting. I remember at least the first 2 being patched awhile back. I haven't seen those at all. Sorry to hear they are still around.

BF4 has deff come a long way since it's launch. There are very few issues left. The biggest issues I'm still facing on a regular basis are audio issues.

For PC or PS4?

I experience them on occasion, it's more of an annoyance than a hindrance.

Xbox One.

The audio issues I have are the sound doesnt kick in at the start of a match until like 20 seconds in and sometimes sound will cut out for a few seconds in the middle of a game.

The 20 second sound delay is on ps4 too. After that though its fine.

Well since Visceral is handling it maybe they'll do a better job. I'm not buying another DICE BF game again. Been playing BF since Bad Company 2 and I remember BF3 was ridiculously broken for a long time and BF4 is still a pile of **** more often than not. Just got off a TDM session now actually. There's lag when joining the game, either the other players are invisible or their character models behave strangely for the first little bit, you can't jump over a 12 inch box or barricade without spazzing out, hit detection is still problematic, tick rate is awful compared to other shooters.

For the life of me I can't figure out what DICE/EA are doing, they took a great and unique FPS experience and turned into your average broken, pay to win shooter. I still play BF3 from time to time and even that isn't fixed, although the hit detection and tick rate is better.

Most of the issues on consoles have been resolved. There's still a few that pop up every now and then, but not at all like it was in the few months after launch. You can also do fine with the very first weapon(s) you unlock. This series has deff not become play to win...yet.

So the open beta is out today. Anyone tried it out yet?

Just downloaded it, will be trying this evening.

This hotwire mode is really fun! I'm enjoying the beta. :)

Cant really get into it myself, something feels off about it, far too fast paced for my liking and a downgrade from BF4 in the visual department. Weapons feel a bit lightweight and dont sound as good either.

Some of these things might be because its a beta but its not convincing me to lay out top dollar on it at the moment.

I like the lightweight feel and the more fast paced gameplay. Sets it apart from BF4.

Yea I love that mode within the setting of this game. Not sure how conquest will feel within this "cops n robbers" theme, but hotwire absolutely kicks ass.

The game plays great as well, aside from the fact the beta forces you to play the punk ass "normal" mode.

Overall though the game seems familiar enough. I'll deff be snagging it at launch.

I only ever play normal mode in games. :p Hardcore is not for me. lol

Tried the beta and it's fun, but it feels like COD; not Battlefield. The guns models look bland and the movements are too fast. I haven't tried Hotwire yet, so maybe that will convince me.

Well thanks guys for recommending the Hotwire mode, that was infinity better than the rest of the beta, great fun either riding around in cars taking out people in a drive by or trying to take criminals out as they drive around. Easily the best mode in the beta and didnt feel like just a BF4 rehash so much.

Impressions have improved on it, still not 100% sold on a day one purchase but picking it up for half price later is an option.

I'm probably gonna do the same as you. It was fun, but idk if I NEED to drop 60 bucks on another shooter, when I already have several that I've yet to play, like Far Cry 4. I've been waitin for the price to drop on that one

Herein lies the problem. With BF's rise in popularity they've had to adjust their games to the common denominator, hence why they'll pour money into a CoD ripoff like Hardline but won't do Bad Company 3.

The reason people play Battlefield is to have a different experience from COD. I'm starting to get annoyed by this tendency to make all shooters homogenized ; essentially just trying to copy CODs twitchy, erratic game play mechanics. Ugh.
