not sure what was cooler the guy driving the ATV off the building into the helicopter, or the guy jumping out of a jet at high altitude taking out another jet with a rocket launcher and then jumping back in in his jet wow.
Bad Company 2 maps being in is huge for me!Yeah, it's not the smoothest launch. A few bugs for sure (like my loadouts will disappear for entire matches etc). But I'm sure they'll be quick with the patches for this one.
I reckon it's taken me the weekend to finally start clicking with it (unlocking attachments for the weapons makes a maaaaaajor difference to combat effectiveness.
Also recommend starting with Breakthrough instead of Conquest to get a more focused intro to the maps etc.
Also Portal is incredible. It's not just maps from 1942, Bad Company 2 and BF 3, it's like all the original player class loadouts and weapons from them too. If they keep adding maps for all those games, the value of this game just shoots through the roof for any franchise fans. I mean, they're essentially soft launching a Master Chief Collection style platform inside the existing game, which is very cool (especially if it brings everyone to these servers)
Agree with the above post though in terms of the aim assist for console. You need cross play on to find quick matches but the number of PC players outnumbering console is brutal and I need all the help I can get haha
Yeah, I know everyone wants a universe but what are we doing here - connecting soldier no.42 with tank no.3 and gun no.7?Because when someone thinks "the benefits of linking together the characters and world into one larger milieu" they definitely think "Battlefield", well known such as it is for both. *ahem*
There are all the makings of a great Battlefield game in this, but the game clearly wasn't ready for release, and the content at launch is just alright. 6 launch maps are fine, as are 2 game modes. Hazard Zone is even worse than Firestorm in Battlefield 5, I appreciate they want to do something different but it's really just a poor man's battle royale. So me and my group are skipping this for a good few months at least until we hear things are working smoothly. Shame as I love Battlefield games otherwise (BC2 Vietnam DLC is my favourite).
Thanks for the info. The portal sounds amazing. I would be all over that. But on the other hand it’s annoying enough to me that BRs have somehow taken over shooters but Battlefield is known for the exact opposite! Massive maps and huge player numbers on a realistic “battlefield”. I never liked death matches in BF and BR is taking that to an even further extreme away from the signature BF premise for me.There are all the makings of a great Battlefield game in this, but the game clearly wasn't ready for release, and the content at launch is just alright. 6 launch maps are fine, as are 2 game modes. Battlefield Portal is a great idea and I think that's really this game's saving grace. Replaying classic games with the opportunity to mix and match (say Caspian Border with 1942 weapons & classes) is fantastic.
I could see this ending up like Battlefront 2 (2017) but yea, I think your in the right for holding off at the moment.
Good to know. Will probably still be a while before I jump in but at least things are finally looking more promising.FYI, jumped back into this after the updates and I'd say the gameplay is finally more stable (At least on Series X). Patched a lot of those persisting problems for me (E.g. Not being able to choose a loadout sometimes, better scoreboards, being able to see where medics are, better hitboxes).
I'd say for me, it feels much closer to what it should have been at launch. Now we just need to know what their content plans are since, there's been no word of new maps etc
