!!!! another win over mw3 !!!

you can choose a room to go into instead of randomly being put in a game half full you have the option to chose what mode, map, ping, etc.... there is not host advantage because its dedicated servers so no host migration when the host rage quits because there is no host :)!!

That's fantastic news.

Dedicated servers for the win.

that's what they've been desperately needing! among other balancing things.

Yes! The only console game I've ever seen to do this is TF2 in The Orange Box. I love this stuff.

Thanks for the co-op vids.

Didn't BFBC 2 have dedicated servers?

Spock, how many times must we go over this again... I don't PC game. That literally means nothing to me.

Over where I live, in crazy town, we have a thing called an xbox, where you don't 'choose' servers, you hit a magic button called "find game" and then you "play the game". It's much more complicated than PC gaming.

I can't believe I'm gonna defend Spock, but he did nothing wrong. It was pretty self explanatory, but you didn't know, so Spock showed you. Where did he go wrong?

From someone who has never played PC games, it wasn't self explanatory. It annoyed me because just about every interaction I have with him involves him again assuming I play PC and me explicitly telling him I don't. Forgive me if wilfull arrogance annoys me.

I don't PC game at all, and honestly...I think browser options for servers is pretty self-explanatory. I more or less got it without any explanation at all just by assuming it was the traditional meaning of the word. And spock does get that way sometimes, but I honestly don't see that this time at all. Because he's kind of doing the opposite of what you're mad about, since he didn't seem to assume you knew it and told you what it was.

Server browsing will rock your socks off, you can actually pick the games you join, therefore you can avoid maps you dislike entierly.

I don't know what it's like on the 360 or PS3, but in MW2 on PC there was nothing more irritating leaving a game that had an aimbotter, wallhacker, booster or some form of cheater in the game only to hit 'find game' & be dumped straight back into the same ****ing map..

How is 'Browser options' a specific thing, though? It seems like so vague a term it could refer to anything, and not playing PC, I was wondering more specifically what it was and what the implications were (which 'B' just helped explain, by using context, better than everyone).

But fine, I suppose I'm just stupid. Thanks guys.

I'm beyond grateful for that feature, and it's about time a major FPS got around to doing it. I can't stand quitting a game and then being dropped back into the same game again. It happens all the time, too.

It's no problem.

I don't see server browsing having any place on the console, since the servers are pretty much magic, invisible things we don't have to worry about... Unless the game is lagging, in which case you blame them just because you can.

Eh, server browsing doesnt really seem all that helpful imo. Maybe ill change my mind when i actually try it, but iv never really had a problem with the way BC2 ran their online.

The main benefits of dedicated servers is the part that you'll most likely have "regulars" for _____ servers so you know not to expect much shenanigans if at all.

It makes for a much more tight knit community. Not only that you won't get host migration at all.

Those are big pluses for me. Then again I started with shooters on the PC so I do have a preference.
