This movie was really really good.... I was pulled in, and it never let me go... the overall emotion... the action.... the drama... just thinking about this movie makes my skin get goosebumps.... it's a shame that many people don't love this film... Pepper was a great hero... and Travolta was the best villian, since Vader... actually, Travolta's bad guy would whoop vader's but.... this movie rocks.... :word:

Yeah no your are wrong on all accounts.

worst movie ever

I kinda agree with him, actually. Whilst I wouldn't categorise it as the best movie of the 20th Century, it wasn't really bad. I liked it a lot.

I've never seen it sadly, but my brother seems to like it.

CAH

I wish Tom Cruise would stop posting on the hype.

Battlefield Earth still sucks when you watch it when you're high

What a waste of weed.

That's what I told my roomie when he rented it. But the weed was good

Well as long as you had some buddies over to laugh at it I guess it wasnt that big of a waste but a waste non the less.

I always thought it was stupid how the humans thought they would fool Travolta into thinking that those smelted bars of gold were from that out crop.

Don't you know? Catwoman is the best movie of all time:woot:

Well I will become the Third.....I likedit too.

Though like DM I wouldn't say best of 20th Century

I remember when I saw it there were six people in the threater Including my three buddies and I on the night it opened....We saw that and then went to a packed second showing of Gladiator...and I think it was a week or two old....

I was the ridicule of the car ride home when I said I liked Battlefield Earth Better.

GR84, you should give the book a read if you liked the movie...the book is superior.

And No I am not a Scientologist...I loathe Scientology

Battlefield is kinda like Showgirls, one of those "so bad it´s good" movies that end up becoming cult in their own way.

I read the book, and it is very very good..... the movie was like only half of the book... ti would have been cool to see the rest of the book on film...

No, it would have been cool to see none of the book on film. It was the worst movie ever, and should be used in torture techniques to extract info from terrorists. They would be giving up vital secrets in seconds.

Truly.

Gone with the Wind, Godfather, Star Wars were just stepping stones for this movie.

:whatever:

The book was quite good. Some of the concepts were very cool. The idea of teleporting a high powered telescope deep into space and focusing on Earth to see back in time was remarkable. I loved the By the Waters of Babylon begining with Johnny exploring and trying to comprehend the ancient fallen human city of Denver. And that one passage were the little grey men were trying to foreclose on earth and then BAM the Terl papers! I remember being so pumped when I read that. Hell yeah!

Too bad they had to spoil it first with Dianetics and second with the movie.

If the movie had stayed true to the book in full it possibly could have been.
Too call that movie, as is, the best movie of the 20th century is obscene. It is not even one of the top ten sci-fi films, let alone best film overall. Armageddon would be a better candidate for best movie of the 20th century. Stargate, Blade Runner, any of the Star Wars films, Star Trek, and Dune were all better.
