My Dad likes that one, too. Sadly, as a fan of the original story by Dickens, I find the Alistair Sim version unwatchable. They pulled a "Wicked" and tried to make excuses for Scrooge and put in a bunch of fabricated backstory. It's hugely disappointing.

The George C. Scott one is about as definitive as it gets.

And lest us forget...

I watched that one.

I love Patrick Stewart. But his version, too, was disappointing. It was as though they were trying to stay faithful to the book, yet not repeat what had been done with Scott - as a result they made strange choices about what to cut and what to keep, which IMO hurt the story.

Stewart's performance was great, though.

I wish he'd worn some muttonchops or something, tho'...
