1) I`m pretty sure they`ve said they are gonna make more.

2) And i was simply saying if it comes to a stage where the only choice is...

A)Remake with some putz trying to play McLane.

or

B)Sequel with Junior taking over and McLane retiring to patch things up with Holly.

I would go with choice B.

That was all i was getting at.

im on board w/choice B

Bruce Willis said that he'd like to make another. Len Wiseman said he'd be happy to direct another. FOX have not said that they wanted to make another, and if they did say they wanted to, it probably wouldn't happen. The fourth one already had an iceberg's chance in hell of being made, and well, it was made. However, more than likely, lightning won't strike twice. New installments to old franchises are the new fad in Hollywood now. Die Hard already got it's treatment.

Btw, I'd rather have a remake than McClane Jr.

McClane Jr. idea sounds stupid.

If they do a Die Hard 5, McTiernan should write and direct.

If he had anything to do with Live Free, he wouldn't have stood for the PG-13 rating.

I think Bruce has another in him. They should make another Die hard in another 4 years. If Dirty Harry can make 5, why can't McClane

I watched the movie a couple of days ago here is my review.

Live Free or Die hard is a terrible movie. The acting was awful:

Wills looked positively bored, (wouldn't you be if your previously wisecracking character was turned into the same old tired gruff cop cliche that we've seen in a thousand movies?) and Justin Long was only there to react to things that happened. Unlike the 3rd movie the two leads have no chemistry what so ever. Kevin Smith has a poor acting cameo and Timothy Olyphant is absolutely awful as the worse most boring villain is the series, (yes even worse than William Sadler) I suspect he's a bad actor.

The direction was terrible:

Everything looks blue, akwardly filmed action scenes...oh, it must be Len Wisemen! Ofcourse! The action scenes were boring and somehow worse than the ones in the first Underworld movie.

The storyline/Dialogue: Both were awful and boring. The quips were an afterthought and due to the rating Wills could only say the 12 year old boy curise D**khead. Awful.

The SFX: It was some of the worse I've seen in a movie, you could pratically see the green screen in that awful tunnel scene.

The biggest sin of all is that it was boring as hell. Not once did the director convie a real since of panic.

I hated this movie slightly less than 300.

Shame on the people who made this movie a big hit, shame.

Write? Naw, they should get Shane Black.

ROFL!!
You're funny, guy

The thing is the same McTiernan that we know and love is gone. He went downhill after Rollerball.

almost nothing you just said is true.

The blue hue never really bothered me :o .

The blue made it look too much like a dark film, and Die Hard isn't supposed to be dark at all.

he is right about everything looking blue

So people now hate a movie because it...is...blue? Seriously that is the best dig some can think of that it...was...blue? Seems a bit straw grasping really.

Yes everything did look blue. It was a stylistic choice made by the director. Would the film be really any different if shot with a gold hue or red tint? Probably not.

I need to see more of I SEE SPIDEY's posts, the guy sounds like a true comedy genius.

Thanks for the kind (untrue) words. I'm a girl BTW.

I thinks I SEE Spidey is a chick.......no seriously. She's not a guy

What is that supposed to mean?

That much hate for a Die Hard film as well as a film like 300, not surprised it's a girl.:oldrazz:

Don't be sexist, Robocop, T2 and The Matrix are in my top ten favorite movies.:oldrazz: I also love DieHard and Diehard 3, 300 and DH4 are just bad films.

I agree with thou in some cases. Mr Willis did look bored, he looked as if he wanted to be somewhere else. He wasn't playing McClane, he was plaing himself and he clearly wasn't especially commited to the role. Obviously he is a pro and put in a professional performance, but that's not the same thing. You can say, "He's playing an older, wiser, mature McClane," all you like, but the fact is that he looks bored and tired throughout. If the point of the movie was to show an McClane that has matured so much he's a completely different character (as he is), then why make Die Hard 4 in the first place?

Good point. I really think that the problem was how the character was written and how Wills played or unplayed him. It's a mixture of both that IMHO untimately doomed the project for me.

Agreed. To prove the point, here are some deleted scenes from Die Hard 4....

I think Wiseman was a bad choice for director as well. His approach is always to make the characters isolated and the film have a detatched feel using techniques like blue filters. This approach may work for Underworld, but the sleek inhuman approach is all wrong for the blood, sweat and tears that Die Hard is all about.

Can someone please name any scene in which Willis looks "bored?"

I enjoyed the movie...of course, the first installement is the bestest action movie of the 80s if not of all time (Alan friggin Rickman as the villain!)
But I think LFoDH had more to offer than the second and the third.
