Does anyone else have a flicker of doubt that they may have removed the year on the passport because this takes place before Infinity War?

It has to take place after. Why would have have the black and red suit in FFH but then go back to the Homecoming suit in IW? And Feige himself has said that this movie takes place two minutes after IW.

I thought we would see some throwaway line about how Parker and the world is "adjusting" while keeping it vague as to what but I guess that would be spoilers for Endgame.

I can see 2 reasons to remove the passport year:

1 - To avoid making the same type of mistake Homecoming did with the timeline.

2 - Keep whether it is before/after Endgame ambiguous for those not in the know.

Really? That seems somewhat spoilery.

I think after Engame there's going to be some sort of crazy time shenanigans, mind wipe, reality altering **** going on. If the fallout of Endgame is what we expect it to be, then I can't see Peter going on a School Trip like that right away.

He did, but that statement was a while ago, like around when the sequel was announced. It's very possible something could have changed. We probably won't know for sure until Endgame, I doubt we'll get any kind of direct reference in the Marketing. But safe money's on it's post Endgame.

It could go either way. The tone of everyone in the trailer is way to light hearted considering this supposedly takes place after Thanos has wiped half of the life in the entire universe away;

1)It either takes place BEFORE the snap; hence why we see Hill and Fury getting out the truck before they are dusted in IW. It looks like they just returned from a mission. The mission in 'Far from Home'.

2)It takes place AFTER Endgame and everyone, other that those that time travel back/undo the snap, have no memory of the snap having even occurred.....

I'm leaning more towards theory 2; post snap.

They may wipe time or minds in Endgame.

The trailer seems like it was before IWs though. Remember Parker was on a bus when introduced in IWs. I think he mentioned a field trip so either they are coming back or just going. That would mean they erase time up to that day.

How old is Peter supposed to be now if this takes place after Infinity War?

Wouldn't be surprised if there's deliberate misdirection. I think they officially said it takes place after Endgame, but that could be BS. In theory this could take place before Infinity War. Smart decision to have this set in the UK. It kills the "where were the Avengers" arguments.

It must take place before IW, surely... considering Marvel are keeping things locked down and only showing content from the first 15 mins in the trailers for Endgame, I would find it strange that they'd release a trailer for Spider-Man that takes place after Endgame and shows Fury alive and well.

I could be wrong though!

You dont come back or go in a field trip to EU or whatever in a SCHOOL BUS with no
luggage.. so erase this think

I think that may be a consequence of Sony demanding that their secrets not impact the release date or marketing schedule for their Spider-Man movie.

Yes, that's certainly possible. A shame though as it sort of takes away some of the stakes in Endgame (although we knew the good guys would win!)

I was more inclined to think it was before Endgame.

  • Infinity War he's coming back from a field trip
  • Im guessing he gets the Red/Black & Noir style suit from Fury (would be a convenient reason for introducing the darker colour scheme's as Cap's SHIELD suit was much darker than his others.

So you don't think they ride to the airport in a school bus? You don't think luggage can be stowed away or on a separate bus?

Fury and Hill were also together in IWs credit scene and they appear in this, they were going to see someone. Either they are reporting info on Spider-Man to someone or they were actually going to see Spider-Man in London. That would be more connected to Parker going to the field trip.

It was explicitly stated in Infinity War that Peter was on a short field trip to the MoMA.

I think it takes place before Homecoming actually.

I dont know where to put this movie. It might be after Endgame, but only if minds are wiped to whole human race. I dont see how happens before IW, unless there is time traveling sheningans where future is changed, somehow Kang is involved? So Peter road trip with bus during IW goes actually in Venice.

They had to take the school bus home all the way from England because all the airports were shut down after drone sightings. :o

It's also been explicitly stated by both Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal on separate occasions that the story of Homecoming starts minutes after the events seen in Endgame. Granted, whether this involves some timeline jumping is up in the air, but it is chronologically subsequent and dependent on what happens in that movie.
