Hey guys...
Here's a quick update....again an older pic because the collar was still off center but one that's never been posted until now. Look at how subtle and clean the lines are.
Consider that this pic is approx 2 months old.....

Sorry that I havent updated this as often as I wanted. I had a family member near and dear to me who had fallen ill in November just pass away so I'm not up to my usual sculpting fun self...I'll be back to this soon.
Much more has been done...also other elements to the suit are well on their way.

Am I right in thinking that (in another thread) you said you aren't allowed to show us updates of the suit/ cowl?
This suit is looking great. I'm really looking forward to seeing the casts.

I believe what you're thinking of was in reference to one of the other suits he's making for a fan film, not the Begins one (because it's up to the director of the fan film whether he can show it or not.

I think he's simply not ready to show us more of the Begins suit, not that there's any reason he can't. Anyway, looking forward to seeing it though I'm guessing due to David's loss (sorry to hear, BTW) he may understandably show us more a little later than originally intended.

David, I'm just wondering, are you attempting to do with the cowl what they did with the real one - i.e. only have a thin neck wall (1 cm) with an articulated foam form providing support to the hollow area?

Presumably if the neck is solid foam as it will be just as immobile as the old ones.

BTW David sorry to hear about your loss. I lost both Grandparents this christmas time. I hope I didn't sound like I was hassling for an update.

Yes, Lujho is correct about the fan film and the secrecy behind it. Also no worries about asking for an update.... You should see my email inbox and how many of those I get on a daily basis.
The fan film is not my project so other than the pics already posted I cant share anything else unless the director says I can. He has a great vision and I fully believe in his abilities.

As for my Begins sculpt...Nothing but myself holding me back from showing it. I've begun to hold off because I want to show it once it's complete...in it's cast form. In my personal opinion it is by far my most accurate movie replica costume sculpt yet. I was fortunate enough to have enough reference material to base my sculpt on and make it as accurate as can be....basically I have no excuse but to make an accurate replica down to each and every detail considering my reference material. So in other words...I'm taking my time on it because I wont be satisfied until it is as good as I can make it.
Put it this way...If you guys liked what you saw up until the last few updates...consider that it's much more complete now, much more accurate and very well along into the sculpt. Again, I've never felt this proud of a sculpt I've done.....I hope everyone likes it but the truth is I have to like it first and above all. I have a feeling that if I feel this good about it...then there's a good chance most of you will agree once I show it.
Also....mine will be cast in foam latex just like the movie suits.

As for the cowl....once again Lujho hit the nail on the head..

Usually when people say that they end up with 3 daughters first.
Thank you though...It's nice to know you find it that impressive when it all just started as a hunk of clay.

So far the coolest part of the suit is the chest...once the cowl will be ready I'll show pics of me in the chest and cowl....this is a pretty exciting time for us all who really dig the Begins suit. I sooo cant wait to finish it!

Believe it or not, right after the Begins suit I want to go back to finishing sculpting the Sonar suit. I started that last year and put it on hold when I got bored of working on it. After the Begins suit I want to go back and finish it properly.
