An app that would allow cops to determine if you were texting if involved in an accident or other violation. And yes, it can access your phone.

Even if they arent accessing content on a phone, they have to have a warrant to access it. And afaik its not against the law to use your phone to listen to music while driving (because thats no different from using the radio which is entirely legal) so confirming that someone swiped across their phone with their finger wouldnt prove jack **** in a court of law. The person could have been simply holding their phone while they were driving or using it as a radio.

This will probably just encourage people to develop anti-textalyzer software.
