While Affleck did do a good job with whatever scant material he had, it's still Bale for me until Affleck has more movies, screen time until his belt.

I enjoyed Batfleck but this poll is a bit premature.
Considering Affleck is the shiny new toy, hot on the heels of the movie's release, and this poll is in the BvS forum, too, I am surprised Bale is doing so well on the poll. In a few months when the dust has settled, and the hype and shine have calmed down, a new poll is in order.
By then if BvS doesn't do well at the BO, people will start to criticize everything in it no matter if it was good anyways.
People are criticizing everything in it anyway lol. Affleck is about the only thing the general consensus agrees was decent.

Yea, we're comparing a new Batman who's history was barely explored with one who's had three movies to tell his story. Though this time around I like the approach of Batman as the Legend and "Demon of Gotham" than Batman, the symbol. Batfleck is Batman all in and that's pretty cool so far.
I'd vote Keaton over Bale so in that respect not much will change for me even if the poll is re-done in 20 years time
Here the general consensus is that he was better than Bale. And they're still criticizing the rest, so it's not like this movie and/or everything in it is the "new shiny toy" here either.
Dug the horror aspect of the demon-bat. Ditto, of course, the power and grace of his fighting ability. Not fond of his seeming nonchalance towards killing, but there's obviously some background from the 'turn men cruel' exchange with Alfred so it can be explored preferably in an Affleck-directed solo Batman movie.
Didn't think he came across as 'the world's greatest detective' here. In fact, both him and Lex didn't come across as two of the brightest minds in the DC world here to me.
Yea, I'm not happy about that either and also and hope him realizing "Men are still good," brings him back to his old, less brutal ways. And I can see why you didn't think him the world's greatest detective in this. I wish we had gotten more of him in Gotham and interacting with Gordon and so on. If anything, while this movie didn't confirm I liked Batfleck more over the other Batmen, it did increase my interest in a Batman solo with Batfleck a lot. I want to see this Batman in a Court of Owls or Batman Gothic story setting.
The difference between the two characters.

Nobody is comparing the other elements to anything else like they are here with Bale and Affleck.
The same thing happened in the wake of the awful The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Andrew Garfield was hailed as being better than Maguire, he swept the polls against Tobey Maguire. A lot of people were saying he and Stone were the only good things in the movie just like with Affleck in this.
Then several months later a new poll was conducted out of the TASM 2 forum and surprise surprise; http://oi68.tinypic.com/30kdjb5.jpg
We saw it happen with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
I also see a lot:
"Wow, Jared Leto's Joker looks awesome!"... Whereby Heath's Joker suddenly takes the "overrated Nolan" bashing.
Exactly what I said. When the TASM movies failed to survive, the audience started to hate everything in them. But months after the first TASM was released, people still voted Garfield over Maguire and when TASM 2 was released it was the same (Garfield by then was not the shiny new toy). So it's not like all you need is a few months.
Well people who say stuff like that are just idiots.
Today's hero is tomorrow's villain. It's unfortunately a typical truth.
