For all the Bendis fans like me.

Wow, this thread is poppin' with Bendis fans.

Don't worry, this thread is doing much better outside of the internet. ;)

Bendis is a legend and this is a great interview.

And Spidey should have said something about the Goblins costume

It was a pretty good interview if you ignore the fact that Bendis is an unbearably ****** writer.

Which a lot of people seem happy to do. So that's all right. :yay:

no quote of the interview? that's lazy posting..

I agree. Producers are really so stupid. They almost always change things (in movies, music, etc.) for the worst.

I like Bendis' interviews. He does these epic interviews over on his jinxworld forums where any and every poster is allowed to post a question and then over a series of nights he is interviewed and answers EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. That's a pretty cool thing to do for the fans.

Not capable of flexing your index finger to click on a link to bring you to the interview? That's lazy.

When you consider Stan Lee first made a name for himself in 1961 and stopped writing 1reguarly in 1971, Stan was writing for works of significance for 10 years, Bendis has now been doing it for longer than that.

How long a guy is in an industry doesn't matter, it;s the quality of the work

Exactly my point.

That's an awful lot of qualifications to shorten the length of Stan Lee's career, too...

You haven't made a "point" yet. Eplain why his work is low quality and then you have a point.

Because writing Sam and Twitch is totally an artistic kick-off on par with creating the Fantastic Four. :o

Oh no but you're right he wrote Jinx! Which was totally significant, to all four people who ever read Jinx!

You haven't made a "point" yet. Eplain why his work is low quality and then you have a point.

Cause it's ******, sloppy hackwork with mushmouthed dialogue, didactic author's-mouthpiece lecturing, the storytelling depth of a piss-puddle, zero dramatic tension and an endless line of hopelessly pathetic cardboard villains, who are only effective to the extent that they run up against the writer's even more pathetic, ineffective cardboard heroes?

...and now someone will bring up Powers, because it's so awesome watching a couple of ******ed, corrupt cops run around with their ***** in their hands and totally failing to accomplish anything of actual significance for issue after issue after OMG MONKEYSEX issue.

HoM, SI, SW, Disassembled=the exact same formuliac story and characters, none of which could be considered new in any form in addition to completely disregarding any past character history, and all people in his books have the same trendy speach pattern regardless of whether they're from WW2, a norse god, a savage living on a remote island or a black dude.

I'd like for someone to explain how he's even thought of as a "quality" writer.

Every time I go to write down a reason why Bendis is ******, I end up remembering three more reasons why Bendis is so unbelievably ******.

...For the record, I did mean it up above when I said that it was a good interview. He says some worthwhile things about like, Peter Parker and Aunt May and so on, you just have to ignore that his actual work with those characters has been dreadful.

I liked the bit about USM where people were trying to get him to kill Aunt May instead of Uncle Ben, which I guess goes to show that no matter how bad at something someone is, there's someone right behind them who's even worse than that.
