Bendis, I used to love you

Oh, I'm well aware of how business works. I know that Bendis is here to stay. I'm just frustrated by the fact that he is lowest common denominator stuff, i.e. Marvel selling out for mad cash.

Stuff happens.

My reasoning is clearly idiotic BUSINESS wise, don't get me wrong, I know that. I get emotionally flipped out because Marvel was better than that at one point. It's just like the 90's all over again, IMO.

They DO have some great writers, who respect the hell out of continuity and good story writing, they just don't sell, which only makes my disdain for Bendis even greater.

However, when someone finally steps back as sees the man for what he is, a poor writer, (like the OP) then I smile knowing that SOMEONE gets it.

Giggity Giggity Goo!! :yay:

And if you're real quiet and you listen real close, you just might hear the bellowing maniacal laughter of Bendis lounging around in his froofy embroidered bathrobe and fuzzy slippers laughing his b___s off watching us fight about it.

I maintain... BASTARD!

I hear he wears Ninja Turtles slippers.

Am I the only one who is really impressed with the New Avengers: Dissassembled arc? It's an arc comprised of one shots (basically) and I think it is some of his best work on NA, and right now period.

Lets calm down, the only one worht the time was the Luke Cage one, the others really sucked hard IMO.

The Jessica Drew issue was good, but I felt like it was just thrown together to finish the Hydra story real quick. I feel like with all the blow up we've had of that storyline, there should have been more to it. (Imagine that, someone criticizing Bendis for not stretching a story out). The Sentry one was okay, as was the Iron Man one. The Captain America one wasn't that great in my opinion. I was bored.

And while I liked House of M, I agree that Bendis does best with lower status solo books. He did a great Daredevil from what I read, and I hear a great Ult. Spidey. I love New Avengers, but I think his absolute best issue of it was his Cage solo story for Civil War. I think he needs to focus more on that and I think he'd get more fans back. He should write a Hawkeye solo :p

I'm see a pattern now with BMB.

Street level solo hero: yes!

Super Team full on action + brisk pacing: No.

Hmmmm, maybe, but have you read Ultimate Power #2?

Nope I'm kinda done with BMB (Unless he figures out he should do a Luke Cage series)

I can't bring myself to spend money on BMB and JMS, let alone working on the same story.

Me neither but I heard it was non stop action.

I'll wait for the trade, (Damn I've become one of those guys..) when it's at Borders/Barnes&Nobles I'll flip through.

You're not alone Mr. Green. I share your sentiments.

Yeah, the Cap one blew. But I thought the rest were really darn good. My favorite so far has been the Iron Man one. It was pretty suspenseful and had Stark get totally pwned by some random guy. Awesome! :woot:

Thanks, I was beginning to think I was crazy or something. :yay:

The cap issue was fine with me.

I dont see what you're saying about USM...since the Clone Saga started it's been better than it has in the past year and a half

There have been USM storylines in the past year and a half better than the Clone Saga. All the Clone Saga has been so far is just a bunch of over the top shock moments.

Mary Jane as a Goblin? Come on, dude. That is officially the dumbest thing that Bendis has written and the only reason I stick around is to see if he reverses that travesty.

What next...Aunt May grows octopus arms? :whatever:

He was never a good fit for a team series
