I love or really like all of the ones you've mentioned in the poll, except for Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers.
I still need to watch Hellboy II, ugh.
Why on earth is the Avengers being classed as a 'first in a series', it's a culmination film, of four years progression. It's not a 'first' installment at all.
No Sequels, Prequels, Threequels, or reboots. The films in the poll are or are considered the first major film of their respective film series.
And yes, several MCU movies are in the poll. While they are part of the wider MCU franchise, they are also a franchise unto themselves.
Avengers wasn't truly the first installment in a series but rather the culmination of previous first installments.
Roger Corman's Fantastic 4, baby.
Seriously, it IS the most faithful adaptation.
Actually I think the film has its merits. It's not a "good movie," but I can enjoy it if I accept it for what it is. The movie actually has a good theme IMO.But is it good?
