Two thousand spider man comics? Wow.

I've never owned two thousand of anything.

I got my first job back in 08 when I was 15, and that's around the same time the economy sputtered out. People were selling their comics on eBay cheaper than I've ever seen, and as a sophomore in high school with no real grasp on finances, I bought an absurd amount. I haven't bought comics in several years, but I have enough to last me for quite some time.

That's alot of Spidey books man. Impressive Flint

Both of these movies have some severe lows, but I feel the high's in TASM 2 are higher and more fullfilling than TDW's. Gwens death scene was done better than anything dramatic ?TDW attempted also.

Both films had all the makings for a great movie. TASM2 was ruined by studio interference, and I really don't know what happened with TDW. But at the end of the day, I enjoyed much more of TASM2 than Thor.

I prefer Frigga's funeral scene to Gwen's death scene.

Cant agree, Gwen's scene had so much emotion to it after building Gwen up for 2 movies. And of course then there was Peter's reaction when he realised he hadnt actually save her, it was a superb moment in a mediocre movie. I felt literally nothing in the Frigga funeral scene, and of course it didnt help that not one person at the funeral showed any reaction to her death. It was just a sea of blank faces.

Is there any evidence TASM2 was ever going to be a good movie? Saying it got "ruined by studio interference" implies that at some point along the line, there were better prospects. As far as I've been able to discern, though, there was never a point where stuff like "Sinister Six previews" and "plot mandated tragic romance" *weren't* part of the plan. Not exactly like Marc Webb was an auteur cruelly suppressed by the studio execs.

Tolmach apparently said himself that he and Avi came up with the idea of building up to Sinister 6 in the middle of filming TASM2.

However, I honestly think the Sinister 6 build up is a minor problem compared to the rest. It doesn't really take up much screen time after all. I think Rhino for example was included from the start anyway.

Excellent cast, intriguing story potential for parallels between Peter and Electro. They had the potential for a great Spiderman movie. Then, like Oscorp said, they decided halfway through that they wanted to set up the Sinister 6 NOW and Harry had to become the Goblin NOW, and it all went downhill from there.

I actually LOVE TASM2. Thor: Dark World was OKAY. It was pretty forgettable, its only strengths were all the scenes between Thor & Loki - felt very Shakespearean.

Thor the Dark World was amazing cinema compared to ASM 2.

They had tremendous potential to deliver a better movie and even the cast members stated that the original script was much different than what transpired. I was certainly hoping for a better outcome. I think most people were too. Hindsight is 20/20 though and after everything we've learned about production, pre and post, there were problems from top to bottom.

According to cast members the Sinister 6 was not part of the original script. Like Oscorp stated, Tolmach even stated that it was something they developed while during principal photography and made changes. I mean, you just don't do that--make such changes during principal photography. It's like they never learned their lesson from SM3 or even ASM for that matter. Editing issues abound. It makes all the more sense why Shailene as MJ was cut from the movie.

I think we've learned that Webb was never the right man for the job as he lacked a good understanding of the characters involved. But it's also pretty clear he was hired to be the 'yes' man and able to be bent over at will by the 'creative' production team of Arad and Tolmach. Everyone involved is to blame however there was indeed a meddling studio interfering with the final result. If this was a one time deal maybe there would be more of an argument but one only needs to look at SM3 and ASM to see the track record of the 'creative' production team and their 'input.'

TASM2 made me angry. Like X-Men Origins: Wolverine angry. I was willing to give Webb and co. another chance, and maybe deliver the rebooted franchise equivalent to Raimi's Spider-Man 2. The only scene Webb got right was Gwen Stacy's death, it was so well-done and heartbreaking. Had the rest of the movie been up to par with that scene, it would've beat Thor: The Dark World hand over foot.

Thor: The Dark World was mildly entertaining. Malekith didn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, a la Jamie Foxx's Electro or Paul Giamatti's Rhino. It could've been a lot better, but the overall product was more palatable than TASM2.

To me movies like Thor 2, Iron Man 2, TIH, they're sugar. They're popcorn. I'm not going to hate some of that every now and then, especially if I'm in the mood for it, but I'm not going to defend them so hard either. I'd put a lot of other movies on this level that I think are a pleasant watch and have some great moments. But there are movies whose problems can't save it, because they are so full of missed opportunities and mismanagement. ASM 2 falls squarely into that category.
But X-men Origins Wolverine is in a league all of it's own.

Eh, TASM2 got my vote. Both movies were kind of a mess, with weak plots and weak villains and plenty of missed opportunities to go around, but TDW did nothing but bore me to tears. I just didn't enjoy or care about any of the characters, including Thor and Loki. In TASM2, I at least still enjoyed Spidey's scenes and remained invested in Peter and Gwen, and I even got a little emotional at her death. So yeah, it was a mess, but at least it gave me something.

Wait, the nightmare that was the Harry Goblin and the complete joke of Electro were better than Malekith and Loki? I'll give you the costume but that's about the only accurate thing I see here.

Loki was fine but Malekith was plain boring and forgettable, ashame because I love Eccelston.

Malekith was boring, but at least he wasn't embarrassing like the ASM2 trio.

Seconded. The green goblin might be my favorite villain in all of comicdom so to see him wasted like that wasn't easy.

True, Malekith may have been lifeless, he didn't make you feel like life wasn't worth living. That's how I felt watching their try at Rhino and Green Goblin.

Yep, TASM2 at least made me feel something throughout,it had emotion to it, though it wasn't always emotions in a good way. Not once during TDW did I get sad or excited at what was happening.

The hate for TDW is over the top ridiculous. I couldn't even finish watching ASM2. There's only one other CBM I've never watched all the way through: Batman and Robin.
