Best and worst concert you ever went to

Only concert I've even been to was The Beach Boys. Didnt care for it because every time we got into the car, my little brother had to play the BB cassette. Yeah, got pretty tired of the Beach Boys.

Scariest show: Danzig:eek:

I went to take a leak and no joke, almost an entire stall door was coated with someone's fresh blood all smeared as if someone had bashed someones face into it till they died.

Many fights broke out, not nearly enough hot chicks, mainly just 7 foot tall hairy dudes in black leather looking like Klingons who would eat your eyes if you looked at them.

And then there were death threats against Glen and he went to the dressing room, sat in the corner with a shot gun and told his roadies that anyone coming through the door, including staff, would be shot.

uh....fun:confused:

I wish they all could beat California girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllssssss...........

I went to see The buzz***** and the wailers on Saturday. Awesome!

You obviously don't understand me at all.

Best? I dunno anymore. I've been to too many good ones. Metallica kicked ass both times I saw them; Van Halen was a dream come true; but right now I'd say Shinedown less than a month ago, when they dedicated "Simple Man" to Dimebag I damn near cried. And to top that off I was on the fence for the whole show.

Yes they do.

Truth be told, this is a very hard choice. I've seen some of the best acts in the world in my short life, and for the most patrt I've ben completely satisfied. I've seen three alone this year (the first show were the same artist at the same venue).

If I had to choose, it'd probably be The Rolling Stones back in 2003. I saw them at Madison Square Garden (the HBO special from a few years ago), and it was an amazing show. I'm lucky enough to have a copy of it on cd.

It wasn't just the show that was amazing. It was the whole night. My dad rented a limo (it was a good business year) and we dined at Peter Luger's, the world famous New York steakhouse.

I saw them again this past September at Giants Stadium, and it was once again an amazing show. I've also seen Elton John, Billy Joel (2x), Tina Turner (with lionel Richie as the opening act) & John Mellncamp, all amazing shows.

There were a few disappointments. Eric Clapton did too many new songs and too little of the stuff you really wanted to hear. Roughly half of the set was made of tracks from that Robert Johnson tribute album he did a few years ago. Yeah, he did "Layla" and "Sunshine Of Your Love" and some other familliar stuff, I just expected more.

I saw The Alman Brothers Band a little over two weeks ago at Jones Beach, and I was very disappointed in them as well. Gregg's voice, while overall in good shape, is shot, they played for only a little over two hours (these guys are known for having some of their shows border on four), "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" went on about a half hour too long (we really didn't need the 20 minute drum solo) and they didn't do "Whipping Post" or "One Way Out", my two favorite songs by them. They did do "Melissa", though, which was great since my friend Melissa was there that night.

Oh, and some irate audience member threw a pretzel at my head.

But by far, the worst concert I've ever been too is undoubtedly Kelly Clarkson. I was dragged to it because we were on vacation and my parents didn't want to leave me alone in the hotel room. Fortunately, it was a short show. But a horrible short show.

Lot of fans of little billy broad from bromley (thats Billy idol to all you scunners) round here.

OK. Worst. Megadeth, at the hammersmith odeon (one of those legendary venues we have in the UK). This was thye tour in which dave Mustaine decided it would be a clever idea to plasy the kings hall in belfast, and profess his support for "the cause". trust me, it isnt a clkever idea.
at the hammy o, he walked off stage for an hour. we were not happy.

Best> Its between Guns n Roses first UK gig (at the marquee, another of those legendary venues we have), whoich rocked. in a nasty sweatbox of a club, where the grime was like sponge on the floors. what a show.

Warrior Soul, London Astoria. a girlie I know knows the band (shes an ex of derek's from Sepultura). baclstage passes. beer with the band before the show. beer woith the band after the show. very cool.

and for utter grooviness, the freddie mercury memorial copncert at Wembley. Queen, axl rose and elton john performing Bohemian Rhapsody together. Queen and james hetfield doing stone cold crazy, and so on. none of the usual guff, but the bands freddie listened to. metallica, GnR, extreme, acts freddie was a fan of. and the look on Liza Minelli's face when she had to hold slash's arm during the traditional last song everyone on stage bit.

Wish I'd been there.

I saw the wailers whilst I was in the states, they did a little show by the ski resort i was staying at.

Best concerts-Woodstock III when a guy came up and requested I take a picture of him naked  he was cute and had a hot bod :) We hung out for the rest of the show,so many good shows

Worst concert-a local show,an 'HFStival, in the company of an a'hole, I don't even remember the bands  what an @$$

Best-The Who Quadrophenia Show, 1997. Also Allman Brothers in 1993, Yes in 2004 and Queensryche in 1992.

Worst-Less than Jake. Bad band, and when the audience gave them no reaction, they responded by *****ing at the audience. Kinda sad really.

I also saw Van Halen in 1991 and they weren't bad, but they were underwhelming. Only Alex played well. Plus Alice in Chains opened for them and were obviously a hungrier band at that time.

Bizarre!

I know nothing about LTJ. I don't know any of their songs, I never think about them at all, in any way, I've just heard the name years ago and thought it was one of the worst band names ever.

And this morning, right before I woke up for work, I had a dream where I was at a big bar, drunk, yelling at Less Than Jake as they played, telling them their name sucks.

Weird.

Oh ****, and I really wanted to see Danzig once in my lifetime, too. :(

Well this was at Saltair in S.L.C., Utah which is a colossal s***-hole. He may not attract as many orcs in other venues.

I've heard similar stories about the ilk surrounding Iron Maiden concerts at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Of course, I might take my chances if Glen decides to come to a decent venue like the Electric Factory in Philly.

LOL

They're supposed to be a ska-punk band. Not exactly to my tastes-I'm a classic rock/prog fan, but even so, I've heard enough ska-punk to know it when it's well done. Let's just say it wasn't.
