Best Comic Run Ever Nominations

gotta tell you, that was a pretty banging post/.

Claremont/Byrne-Uncanny X-Men
Miller/Janson-Daredevil

Those are the only two older ones I've read a good bit of. My three favorite newer ones are:

Millar/Hitch-The Ultimates
Whedon/Cassaday-Astonishing X-Men
Bendis/Maleev Daredevil

Ooh...I forgot about that one. Great title.
I just started readin git this summer, and after the first trade, I was both sad that I hadn't been reading this since it first came out, and overjoyed that I had so many more trades I could read through immediately.

60's-90's
Amazing Spider-man- Lee, Ditko
Fantastic Four- Lee, Kirby
Uncanny X-Men- Claremont, Byrne
Daredevil- Miller
Avengers- Stern, Buscema

2000-2007:
Captain America- Brubaker, Epting
Ultimates- Millar, Hitch
Daredevil- Bendis, Maleev
Punisher- Ennis
Astonishing X-Men- Whedon, Cassaday

Future:
Immortal Iron Fist- Brubaker, Fraction, Aja
Amazing Spider-man- Slott
Incredible Hulk- Pak

Top Five (No particular order)

Fables
Morrison - Animal Man
Morrison - Doom Patrol
Morrison - New X-Men
Loeb - Superman/Batman

Top Ten (No particular order)

Brubaker - Captain America
Whedon/Cassady - Astonishing X-Men
Vaughan - Runaways
Bendis/Bagley - Ultimate Spider-Man
Millar/Fitch - Ultimates

Stan Lee/Steve Ditko- Spider-man
Claremont/Byrne - X-men
Brubaker/Epting/Perkins- Captain America
Whedon/Cassady-Astonishing X-men
Bendis/Bagley- Ultimate Spider-man

In decreasing order.

1. Ultimates; Millar/Hitch
2. Swamp Thing; Moore/Veitch
3. New X-men; Morrison/various
4. Daredevil; Miller
5. Daredevil; Bendis/Maleev

Some of the runs aren't my favorite comics, but they are my favorite runs. I tried to avoid including really short runs (hence Miller's Batman Year One is out), and I left out limited series (so no DKR). And the series had to be finished to be included (hence the lack of Brubaker Cap and AXM).

Good topic though, It confirmed my sinking suspicion that I need to read Animal Man and gave me some ideas about a few other series. Purple Man you win Internets for also including Morrison's New X-men. I love that series.

The Top Five in my book:

Kurt Busiek & Perez/ Avengers
John Byrne/ Fantastic Four
Brian Michael Bendis & Maleev/ Daredevil
Walt Simonson/ Thor
John Byrne & Chris Claremont/ X-Men

In no particular order:

Garth Ennis - Preacher
Chris Claremont - Uncanny X-men (first run)
Mark Gruenwald - Captain America
David Micheline - Amazing Spider-Man
Kurt Busiek - Avengers

Wha happened?!

The mods called me "spineless" for reporting a post, so I wrote an extremely emphatic response pointing out where I thought this was lacking as an approach to forum moderation, as well as helpfully pointing out one or two of their more obvious personal flaws.

They banned me for a week and then apparently deleted my response after people started agreeing with it, like the courageous stalwarts that they most certainly are.

Was it agreement or shock at the sight of something ban-worthy?

Now, this might just be because I don't like you, but I think it's cool you were banned.

I'm still wondering what it was in my post that offended fifthfiend so badly in the first place.

It was actually pretty great; it turns out when you get banned on an internet forum, the government sends you free money and hookers.

Shouldn't you be personally insulting somebody for not liking the same comics as you, or whatever it is you do?

Eww...So, now you've got the herps?

Shouldn't you be personally insulting somebody for not liking the same comics as you, or whatever it is you do?

Ouch. Testy, testy.

Oh hey, this is back.

I'm adding

B't X -- Masami Kurumada
Eyeshield 21 -- Riichiro Inagaki
One Piece -- Eiichiro Oda
Slam Dunk -- Takehiko Inoue
Rurouni Kenshin -- Nobuhiro Watsuki

to my list, largely just to annoy people
