Best Movie Scores

Definitely.

I'm going to assume you mean the original Omen soundtrack score right?

Of course.

I don't think I listen to the soundtrack alone. For me, it's the ultimate horror movie score. Goldsmith was a genius.

Lemony SNickets A series Of Unfortunate events shouldve won the oscar that year for best music.

I liked the little montage at the end credits scene from the movie 'Cloverfield', a nice little anthem they put together, it was a nice little gem to help jump out of the mood from that depressing ending off the movie itself; if you actually had the patience to standby after the credits.

Edward Scissorhands. Elfman's best score (easily) and gives the movie a tone and atmosphere few films match when combined with all the other elements of the film.

John Williams is the greatest film composer of all time. I would just like to mention James Newton Howard for his work on "The Lookout" That's good music!

Yep. That was "ROAR!" by Michael Giacchino. It is a homage to the classic Godzilla (Gojira) theme. It is one of my favorite pieces of score, and is favorite from Giacchino.

The Original Score for Happy Feet rates high up there, for me. John Powell's best.

Sweet, thanks for the link, Warhammer:yay:

No problem. It's all over YouTube. I hope that an official version is released eventually, or at least a DVD rip of the closing credits soon.

EDIT, found a great DVD-rip quality version:

Requiem for a Dream

That's actually "Requiem for the Tower." It was the remix of "Lux Aeterna," that was specifically made for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers trailer.

Love Hans Zimmer's contributions to Crimson Tide and The Rock.

Alan Silvestri for Back to the Future.

Can't rule out John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith on everything they've done.

Howard Shore really nailed it with LOTR. Hard to believe his score really moved me to tears. :whatever:

Mark Mancina and Trevor Rabin's collaboration on Con Air too is very good.

I prefer Howard Shore's score for The Fly to Lord of the Rings. The music in the ending scene is just heartbreaking. :(

The Matrix - Don Davis

P.S.: What happened to Don Davis? He's a great composer, and after the Matrix sequels only thing he's done is The Marine (come on...) and two indie movies. I want in on some huge blockbuster again.

300 - Returns A King
