List your favorite movies that are not in IMDb's top 250.

This is the IMDb top 250: IMDb Top Rated Movies

My favorites:

Dark City (So underrated movie)

Infernal Affairs (better than Martin Scorsese's Remake in my opinion)

Banlieue 13 ("true" action by real human instead of CGI gimmicks or fake stunts. This movie aged like a fine wine)

The Terminator
(I can’t believe it’s not on the 250 list :wow:)

Training Day (Denzel Washington at his best)

A Brighter Summer Day -- immersive crime film/drama about youths and families caught in traumatic post-war change. Tragic and beautifully acted.

Millennium Mambo -- magical coming-of-age during the start of the millennium with my favorite opening sequence in cinema

I could keep going but I guess I'll stop.

Clearly the Nolan fanboys have a strong presence on IMDB (TDKR at #71... seriously?). Fincher fans, too. And I like those directors at the same time that their fans don't seem to support some of their best movies (Dunkirk and Zodiac, respectively) as much.

But I dunno, it's a weird list. Like, I love Winter Sleep, but not sure how it squeaked on here over some other foreign films--like 8 1/2 or Aguirre or Ceylan's own Anatolia, for instance. Just very strange what made it in and what didn't and how everything is ranked. But I guess that's to be expected from a user rankings list.

Annihilation

First Reformed
Hereditary
The Lighthouse
Midsommar
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

It’s obviously impossible to ever find an accurate list to suit every taste. But out of every film ranking system online, I do find it to be more or less the best for searching something of quality over say Rotten Tomatoes. They can be on polar ends sometimes, but IMDb usually trumps it in terms of actual quality or relevancy *most* of the time.
