Best Of The Worst?

Hmm, not sure I buy that argument. DD & GR also were released in the dead of winter, had relatively large openings, poor GA WOM and both managed to get past a 2.0 multiplier. The R-rated argument(I'm being preimptive here) also doesn't fly due to 300's success.

Watchmen appealed more towards us comic book people. Everyone under 30 that I knew wanted to see 300. Most of them didn't even know it was based on a graphic novel. They saw the violence and just went nuts for those commercials. Maybe Watchmen does belong on this list but I think that most fans of the comic actually liked the film and I really don't see it as the big flop most people on here are saying it is. Before it opened I hoped it would cross the 100 million mark, I figured that was a reasonable estimate for how much it was going to make in theaters. It's going to have a long shelf life on dvd and it's not like there was going to be a sequel. Snyder even said he was making it to make sure it was made right and if it fails in theaters well at least it wasn't a laughing stock of a movie too.

Both of those movies did extremely well on DVD so I doubt the GA WOM was poor, Watchmen was also more of a hard R than 300 was and was skewed to a smaller demograpic also. I agree, that if it was released in the summer, it would have done better. You could also take into account Watchmen's running time compared to 300, DD and GR.

I really liked Daredevil and the 2nd FF. I think both are pretty true to the spirit of the books. FF's biggest problem is the lack of Galactus. Also, I like X-men the last stand. If Cyclops lived, I might've even loved it.

Punisher starts strong but Frank never feels as tortured as he should be. War Zone is more accurate in terms of how Frank should be behaving but it's shoddily made.

I think people are too hard on Superman Returns.

Out of those FF2, I liked the SS. Superman 3 isn't bad, it's corny but you have Richard Pryor in it so that makes it cool. I like Hulk and Punisher WZ. And Superman Returns was terrible, it was a Bryan Singer fan film.

Daredevil I really don't understand the hate for it. It's amazing that people overlook the fact that in essence, Daredevil was one of THE most accurate origin stories of any comic book character brought to film. Why is that fact overlooked? I wonder...might be to do with it being a Fox production and it stars Affleck and Farrel? People who let their hate for a studio or a particular actor cloud their judgment should be shot.

I don't understand the hate for Daredevil either but I don't think Tom Rothman got to cause too much damage to it as He did with the X-Men franchise after He fired Bryan Singer, all He did with Daredevil was reject the R rating and demanded there to be CGI, otherwise Daredevil was all good, I still think they got away with quite a lot blood in the Theatrical Cut.

I always thought that DD was everything the pre-Batman Begins Batman movies should have been. Affleck is a horrendous actor but actually was a more nuanced one for this role, probably because he's a fan of the character.

But could Matt Murdock really afford a water chamber, or whatever the hell that was? Was that accurate?

There is no water chamber in the comics but it was realistically a good explanation as to how He manages to sleep with all that continuous superhuman hearing but I'm not sure about how He could afford it since I don't know much about how much salary lawyers get.

Given the fact that he was depicted as a mostly pro-bono lawyer, and his dad had no inheritance, it was not exactly realistic. Then again, maybe someone gave it to him, in lieu of payment. Still the maintenance of such a device must be expensive.

^He didnt seem to be wealthy in the movie, yet had all of this swanky stuff in his apartment, if he was in England, the government would have probably given him it all for free because he is blind, dunno how it works over the pond.

Maybe his income isn't that bad, but spends a lot of it on stuff like a water chamber. ;)

^That could easily be a plausible explanation, I mean, he obviously doesnt go on holiday's or nights out, with his responsibilities.

On a side note, cant believe Superman 4 is the only one without a vote.

He tried to take away more than that though. Affleck has said they had to fight for the red suit the way it was in the books. Also, the budget was smaller until Spider-man came out and hit big.
I was really surprised at how much I liked DD when I first saw it, I think both versions have their pros and cons, there are some dumb adds to the director's cut, but for the most part it makes it better(I didn't think this at first though). I'd like to do my own cut someday.

I absolutely loved Superman Returns and Hulk when they first came out. My love for them dwindled after I watched The Incredible Hulk and Superman: The Motion Picture, but I still consider both of them to be pretty good films.

I hated Punisher 2004 the first time I saw it. I loved it the second time. I don't know what happened, but I don't think it deserves to be considered one of the worst.

^Funny, I had the same experience with Punisher '04, I couldnt stand it first time i watched it, but something just totally changed 2nd time and I really enjoyed, and still do when I occasionally watch it, strange.

Personally, I think Hulk, Spider-man 3, and Superman Returns aren't bad films. I obvisously like Hulk quite a bit despite it's flaws. SM3 and SM R also are good films that simply have a few flaws. I might even feel the same about Punisher '04 (though admittedly, that one is harder to argue).
But all of those films I just listed are in my video collection. I don't care for the FF films or X3 and Wolverine...but I'll admit that they had their place and they weren't as much garbage as everything else on that list.

Agreed with all of that, its seems the flawed movies tend to get lumped in with the worse ones for some stupid reason.

Agree with all except X3, I own it on DVD coincidentally, but think it deserve's to be listed as one of the worst, though not as bad as the likes of B&R.

here i go...superman returns 9/10

I was always under the impression you disliked SR PB, or am I getting you mixed up with someone else?

I was just watching a scene from Superman Returns . I'd hate for Routh to never play Superman again.

Hulk for me, although I'd never even think of putting it on a 'worst' list.

To honest there are a few on there that I wouldnt put anywere near a 'worst list', Hulk being one of them, but enough people have had gripes with some of them that I feel I had to include them on the poll for fairness.
